Hello, if you are repairing a commercial inflatable we recommend Tex 210 Polyester Thread.

I would just like to support the top of a slide as some of the material has worn away and air is coming through, would a curved needle be best? Thanks

You dont necessary need access to the other side. In our demonstration video, we are pinching the vinyl and creating a stitch. A curved needle could be helpful in some scenarios. However if your damage is the result of warn out vinyl, then that could mean the inflatable is old and might need to be replaced completely. Please check with the manufacturer of your inflatable product if the damage is something that can still be repaired or not.
