Dollightful, to answer your question Yule is the Pagan holiday that most Christmas traditions were borrowed from. It's basically the O.G. non-Christian Christmas.

Yule is the original Christmas. The early Christians moved their celebration of the birth of Jesus to coincide with Yule celebrations in order to avoid persecution. It's the same story with Easter, the date of Easter moves around the way the Pagan Spring celebration does for the same reason. Ironically this came full circle when African slaves brought to Christain and Catholic households renamed the Voodoo spirits to the various saints and holy people of Christain/Catholic beliefs. The slaves wanted to practice their faith without getting in trouble from the white people who owned them.

Fun fact, not only do female caribou have antlers but they have them during the winter. Since the males use their antlers to compete for mates in the summer and lose them in the winter, the females have antlers in the winter and lose them in the summer in order to protect the herd. By this logic, either all of Santa's reindeer don't actually have antlers or they are all girls.

She's gorgeous! So sad the curls didn't work out (she would have been so over the top cute then!) but I agree that the two ponytails make it go better with the lolita aesthetic you had going on. The decorations on the antlers were SO sweet!

Yuliya's outfit is beautiful! The red with white lace really conjures up memories of childhood Christmases and beloved, hand-made felt decorations. The colour palette you used for her face and hair makes me think of gingerbread (in addition to reindeer), so all round she's a very warm and cosy doll :)

Yule is a pagan holiday! It takes place the night before the solstice and you stay up all night to observe the solstice! My mother is pagan and my father is Christian so every year we open one of our Xmas presents at midnight on the solstice.. hope that made sense!

This sounds like an overly complicated way to say "you suprised me".

Yule is a Pagen holiday celebrated on the winter solctice. I can't say I know a lot about the lore or why it's celebrated, because my family doesn't celebrate it every year due to Christmas stealing all the thunder. When we do celebrate it, though, we do it by decorating a log of firewood with things like ribon and pinecones and cinnamon sticks and paper bows. Then, we burn it, and use the ashes to start the fire for next year's Yule log :)

Sarah Davis Yule or Yuletide is celebrated as an adaptation of otamana (??) Basically this holiday was when a monster would come and kidnap you if you're seen outside after 11pm. Yule is a great time to make potions and do magick

I celebrate Yule by waking up before sunrise and lighting some candles as the sun comes up. It symbolises the coming lighter days now that the Solstice has passed

Honestly, the clothes remind me of what a grandma would set up around the house like old blankets, decor and pillows. I can’t think of anything more Christmasy then that.

You really inspire me to try and refurbishing dolls with just household utensils for the most of it. You even moved me to ask for watercolor pencils, not realizing I had gotten Faber Castell like you had at least once used. I just have yet to figure out proper sewing and making hair from yarn and such. I'm starting with something a bit more simple in build, like My Little Pony dolls, just to get into the habit while I slowly collect enough supplies to properly boost myself in this. Unfortunately, I have attention deficit disorders and can not focus on this, or be patient enough to, but I still try anyways. It has always been something I wanted to do, but you are actually the one that inspired me to even start trying. Thank you so much for your amazing videos! Keep doing what you love most! ♡ I personally want to see more themes of steampunk, natire, tribal, and possibly some other holidays. You are great no matter what though, and I look forward to any other doll customizing videos you make.

AH YES YULE! Yule is an old pagan germanic tradition thats on the day of the winter soltice. Also it's been connected to Odin and The Wild Hunt (its basically where a bunch of supernatural creatures go around running-they can kidnap you if you're seen out; they're an omen of plague and war too..) I think Yule is one of Loki's big holidays too... (i missed yule and now i feel bad... next year i guess)

Fabulous Cthulhu I celebrate Yule every year with my mum as we are pagan, we also have to celebrate Christmas like the rest of the family. Yule is the best time to make a beauty potions if you wanted to know.

Ruby Zamora Because Marvel saw the Norse Gods and thought of them as a cash cow basically. So now you have these people who purely convert to paganism to worship Thor or Loki, and completely disregard the other gods. And then they bring their fandom drama along and honestly it makes other norse pagans, especially Lokeans, look bad.

I was just about to type some of this up! But to go on that, Yule is a twelve day long celebration as well~ Starting on the 21st and ending on the 1st of the new year.

Seems to me that Clawdeen is the only wolf family member to keep her original ears. Hmm... Either way, Yuliya looks adorable!

It's so cool to think that now, in 2020, she would probably modify the legs to make them look like a reindeer's, and have even more ideas for the face and outfits. Just shows how much more creative and amazingly talented Kathryn has gotten!

1. When I think of Christmas.....I think of Pokémon battles in the snow!!!! 2. I love ur cat. My cat just plays with my supplies/projects. Then she looks at me like: "What?" And just sleeps. 3. Zodiac dolls. Plz........they would. Be. *BOOTIFUL!!!!!* (And after all of them are done, u could line them up in yearly order.)

I think its good to have the hair in pigtails. With how elaborate her dress and antlers are, having simple hair really balances it out

She is extremely cute! I think the curls failed because you kept the original doll hair, and MH uses Ceran(idk how to spell it) hair, which doesn't hold curls very well. I may be wrong but that may be why the curls unsprung :(

This doll is honestly gorgeous

Yule is the traditional pagan holiday. It's ment to welcome the winter. It's a time to make wishes for the new year, pray to ancestors and or the powers above.
