Rep's Stainless Rackable EZ Curl bar

Let's review Rep's Stainless Rackable EZ Curl bar to see if it is worth the price. I take a look at the Stainless version of Rep's rackable EZ curl bar from the perspective of features and bang for buck. This premium version of their rackable EZ curl bar has a lot going for it.

300 now. I would consider it if it had knurling without a break. Stainless is great.

Like the Rogue bar. Can't imagine the designer at Rep thinking less knurling was a better idea. From all the reviews I've seen it's by far the most common complaint. I do like the design better than Rogue's as it appears the curves aren't as deep. The Rogue looks more like a hammer curl. I don't need a lot of angle, just enough to take the stress off my elbows.

Great review, Markus! I use mine for heavy close-grip bench presses (I prefer the outer knurl for hand spacing) and it has been a necessity for increasing strength in all of my pressing movements.

Great review! I bought this bar as soon as it came out a couple of years ago. I sold my Rogue regular curl bar and have zero regrets. It is an absolutely beautiful bar and is so convenient to load the plates on the j-cups or have it resting safely on the safety straps when starting skullcrushers. I agree, it is a stunning bar in person and the Rep stainless steel color hits different than other brands. It has a warmth to the color. I have had it in my garage gym the entire time, which I keep at 40% humidity year-round using my dehumidifier. No issues at all. If you haven't already reviewed it, you should also check out the Deep Knurl Stainless Steel Power Bar EX. Absolutely love it. It's my daily driver for squats and deadlifts, sometimes bench if my hands are super sweaty. It has amazingly grippy knurl, but it is not as sharp and rough as an Ohio Power Bar. It takes a couple of days for your hands to get used to the knurl and you will see the print on your palms, but then it's perfect.

Right on Philip, it is a beauty and you’re description re: warmth is accurate too! I don’t have the EX power bar, but tested it at the Rep showroom and it felt great! Would def be in my gym if I didn’t already own the Kabuki Next gen PB!

Beautiful bar and looks like the angles are perfect as well. I wish I could have gotten it. They didn’t have it in stock during the pandemic (as was the case for most equipment) but I was able to luckily scoop up the Rogue Cerakote curl bar, (non-rackable though) and the Titan Fat rackable EZ curl bar, so now this REP stainless steel beauty must remain on a future wish list. Not that you probably feel the need for another curl bar, but the rack-able Titan Fat EZ curl bar is a beast, all hard chrome and offers additional grip and forearm emphasis.

The first thing I thought when I saw you uploaded this video was wait… Marcus told us all last year we didn’t need a rackable curl bar. Anyway, I have this bar too and it’s great. It’s also my only stainless steel bar. I heard REP’s stainless steel isn’t as “good” as American stainless steel. It’s held up well for me but I’m also in California where there’s no humidity. I’ve seen some bad rust on videos of REP stainless bars, including this one in Garage Gym Reviews’ review.

I can be humble and admit when there is a valid reason for certain equipment 😂 honestly, I do like to do my best to see both sides of a point of view. Good to know it’s holding up well and surprised to hear some samples may have rusted - must be some horrendous conditions for that to happen, or perhaps there was a problem with manufacturing at that time. Some others have chimes in and all say it’s held up well. I’ll report back if that ever changes for me. Thanks for watching Jameston!

Great review Marcus! I have the stainless normal version of this bar and love it way more than the rogue version I use on occasion at my local gym. At 30mm it's great on the elbows! Almost all my bars are either stainless or raw steel. I only have one zinc coated shaft ohio bar I use for barbell cycling and its worn off and scratched. Coated barbells aren't worth it imo.

Hey Dixon, same use as the rackable EZ Curl bar? If so, that depends…at my height of 6’2”, I can’t do standing curls with the LLR, so I’d have to kneel or sit (not quite the same. Skull crushers do work well, actually. With some minor compromise, it could possibly be done. The curl bar also works well for triceps push downs

@@twistedbarbell3950 My home gym is outside but under the patio roof next to my pool, so I'm not too concerned about my barbell, since it is a classic and rare YORK Split Sleve Barbell that my dad bought in PA at the YORK Barbell warehouse in like 1983 - before I was even born. When Covid-19 global pandemic hit us, our gyms closed down (as you know) and the desperate drive to my parents house to search for that barbell and his 315lb milled weight plates, they were very rusty but I cleaned off the rust as good as I could but more importantly I was grateful to have anything to train with, since some of my training partners had nothing at their homes.
