I am impressed with the vocalist in how he seems to match Mark’s energy with the smooth almost bluesy delivery without sounding forced or overly dramatic. I have tried to listen to many covers of this song and rarely made it past the 15 second mark. I loved the vocals and band was spot on. I enjoyed listening to the entire song, very refreshing.

Great job boys! In 1977 I was driving taxi late at night leaving the airport in Winnipeg, Manitoba when this song came on the radio. I was so blown away I actually pulled over to the side of the road halfway through the song - I had never heard anything like it - and as we know now - neither had the rest of the world.

good Lord, i should have not started watching because i cannot stop at all. 😂 i should be sleeping now. my husband is a drummer and came from family of musicians and singers, so i don't usually get impressed, i mean i am used and immune to it, but these brothers made me squealed like a teenage girl. so damn good!

What makes RJ so talented? Imagine knowing how to play flawless rhythm and lead on over a hundred songs, playing keyboards while switching to guitar on his lap and singing. Plus he manages to duplicate guitar passages on one Gibson SG. Incredible!

The REO Brothers from the Philippine rocks! I once saw a Filipino cover band on a Caribbean cruise and was blown away by their musical talent. All the songs they covered sounded like the original.

@@razorsharpsmile if you are a good guitarist, that's not impossible but of course not easy because knopfler do not use pick while playing electric guitar.. electric guitar usually needs pick but knopfler didn't use it to have some effect and he is really good in doing that...

I didn’t really mean to change their name: REO Bros of Tacloban is a great name because it stands for their family and their humble beginning - which is both nostalgic and relatable. What I am suggesting is to refer to them as a renaissance band instead just merely a cover band. Renaissance can also mean someone who can do many things very well like a jack of all trade. The Philippines’ national hero is sometimes called by some historians as the renaissance man of Asia. I think the reference is respectful to the brothers and appropriately describes what they have been able to do with many of the 60s to 80s classics.

I've seen several covers of Sultans of Swing on KZread, but the lead is usually picked. This guy played it fingerstyle, like Mark Knopfler, and it made all the difference. Great cover.

Not to mention the vocals....I could have listened to the audio of this vid ONLY and I would honestly believe that it was the original recording of the song as performed by the Dire Straits themselves. He was able to emulate Mark's voice so well!!! O.O

I used to play this number in my last band ..and I happen to know the drummer from Dire Straits!... he lives not far from me ... his name is Terry Williams and I'm going to send him this! ... once again you have made me so proud ... you nailed it boys! ... and well done RJ .. Mark Knopfler isn't easy to do and you got it sussed no problem.

IMO Terry almost stole the show in the Alchemy version. I know that's hard to do with MK on stage but he sure had a good try at it.

I lovedwatching Terry play during the Sydney final concert from BiA. His passion and skill was clear to see. Shame I never saw him play live as he wasn't there for the OES tour. Hope he appreciates the skill of these guys.

Damn, 0_0 the DRUMMER did a nice double-up fill @ 4:32 . These guys sound just like Dire Straits, especially the guy singing lead vocals. WTF! Close yours eyes and you can't tell the difference. Outstanding rendition gentlemen. Bravo
