Hello Monika! Thank you for commenting! There‘s an interesting mix of old and new houses in Asuncion. It might be smart to invest in some property now, in the city or country side. As you said, lots of people are coming to Paraguay and will be interested in buying. And thanks for asking, we’re just getting ready for another long trip. There’s a lot of new construction, a lot of nice homes, more like villas. There’s also a lot of wrought iron fences and homes that look abandoned. The optimist sees opportunity, the pessimist a warning.

I lived there in the late 80s. It was and to a good extent is a beautiful area. Yet it hurts to see some ugly buildings in former residential places. Memories will stay.

Wow I’d love to see Asunción from back then! My friend‘s family moved to Asunción in 1984 and the mom told me that people told them they were stupid to buy a hotel in this area (because so far from the center). When now today the center is pretty bad, and Villa Mora is lively and beautiful!

@AlexandraAllover Villa Morra and Las Carmelitas even more, where always the best residential areas. And in the 80s until the early-mid 90s, you could just walk in the night through the streets securely.

Asunción, Paraguay 🇵🇾 The city looks very quiet and relaxed place to live. Realestate opportunities so many!! I’m considering getting residency in Paraguay or Chile? 🇨🇱 Chile has it all, but Paraguay is better for people on a smaller pension.

Interesting, Chile! What are the requirements there to get a permanent residency? Paraguay is very tranquillo. Asuncion is quite different from the rest of the country, very developed and western. But you pay for it too! On the country side you‘ll find cheaper real estate but also in a different style. I‘d be interested in Chile! Feel free to write me on FB or IG to chat more! Cheers!

I‘m sure you can make it work. People make it work with a lot less, especially if you don‘t live in the capital city. You can find multiple KZread videos by immigrants in paraguay who talk about how much they spend. Let me know if you need anything else!

@@christopherhouse7937 I just saw this today. 1 yr later. but with that much income you can have a beautiful life here. Monthly salary here is about $380.00 x month x family . U surpass that amount. A nice apt/house pending on the area will be around $250 $350.00 x month. Cost of living here with the dollar exchange is quite accessible. I think that with $900 to 1000.00 x month u will surely live very confortably.That includes all your house expenses, rent food gasoline clothes traveling. and Medical Insurance and even meds.

It’s just the places that are up for rent or sale. The signs are sometimes by private people, but most are by real estate companies which they hired. Are you in Asunción already?

@@algae_rhythms Good question. I think it’s partly due to the pandemic, people who struggled with their business and need money. But also so many people immigrating to Paraguay these days and desperately looking for real estate or property. So locals take a chance and put up a sign, maybe someone will buy their house for a good price ;)
