    Took me awhile to watch had cataract surgery on both eyes and spend all my time putting in eye drops and going to appointments for follow-up care. The yellow render is much prettier than the white, well I like it better. I like the tree trimming, nice to see someone do a nice job trimming it up.

    Great seeing things coming together outside! Too bad you had to struggle with stony sand for the render and two different colors, but you made it work. You two also did a nice job with pruning the tree by the gate. Everyone should have a Steve!

    lol I think that too, we intend to remove all the old render and match it in, I will have to build a platform to sit on maybe using parts of the scaffold tower... many thanks

    I think that you should leave perhaps a 5cm gap at the bottom the render between it and the ground to prevent water "wicking" up - I may be wrong of course! :)

    if you look at the bottom you can see a dark strip, approx 3-4 inches in width, just above the soakaway trench.. so no probs.. many thanks

    I was told its style is that of a maison des maîtres " masters house" with a central door way off the street and two rooms either side of the hall way, I would need to do research to find out if this is correct.. many thanks

    Outside wall looks fab - nice match to church, even though that sand lot was hard to deal with (tiny stones.) Once again, Steve to the rescue, what a great friend as yard looks great. See you next time boys.

    @@OurFrenchHouseRenovation oui, le style plutôt vendéen. Je suis plus au sud près de Rochelle,et là les façades sont plus blanches(et plus salissantes aussi,à cause des pluies! . Et puis vous n’êtes pas libres des extérieurs, surtout en jouxtant une église, je suppose.

    Hopefully this solves your damp problem. I have used that sandwich from Brico Depot and it's terrible you are right. I recently got my sand from a garden centre for rendering. It's super smooth. Good work looking forward to the update AJ

    I think I would plant cypress trees along the metal fence there to give you some privacy from a busy road and neighbors and deaden any of the traffic noise. Why did you chop down that pretty tree?
