finally someone separated the 2010s and the 2020s!! i know we’re only about 2-3ish years into this new decade but i feel like the styles & “aesthetics” are already very distinctively different from the 2010s and it frustrates me when people just lump it all together or just skip the 2010s all together
@walkthemads

So true, especially since ~the 'vid~ I feel like we all care more about our homes feeling like a safe space we can do everything in, since we couldn't leave for a year or two. im sure we'll go through a purge phase soon lolol

wait what, I'm just now realizing that its already 2023, it felt like yesterday when the 2010s send-off remix was trending everywhere. time really does fly.

I'd even add onto that, just these first few years of 2020 feel like separate decades almost 🫠
this is so well done and the dedication of redoing a house this many times is appreciated

I just have to say out of all the Sims content creators I watch, you create the most QUALITY videos. All your videos feel new and fresh and they are so fun to watch. I love your longer videos! I could watch this for hours because again they're QUALITY videos.

1995 baby here and I can say that this is how me and my sister’s bedroom looked. She was born right on the 90 in January 😅😂 this was so wonderful and nostalgic!
The nostalgia I got from the 90’s house 🥲 I miss those times. My family didn’t update with the 2000’s so my house was 90’s for many years. Edit: I’m surprised she didn’t go with that sage green that’s really popular for the kitchen cabinets and counters.

Same I felt the 2020s kitchen she did looked more 2010’s
The 90s house - so many memories of my parents. They didn’t do much renovating so their house was like a 90s time capsule. Both passed away in 2014. Remarkable how your video brought on all the good feelings ☺️

they should legitimately make this a whole thing. Packs filled with decor and patterns/colors from different time periods. I'd looooooooooove a 1920's pack. i think id explode.
the 90s style house is so violently nostalgic 😭 reminds me of my old house in illinois
the teen room turning into master's bedroom and the parents bedroom turning into an office kinda implies a sad story there 😭
@HyperfixatationInc
Жыл бұрын
Not really, it could imply that as the teens grew up they moved to the master bedroom when they got married and had kids. But since the teen from the 2010s would be a Gen Z, and likely in their 20s, they probably wouldn't have a kid of their own, therefore they wouldn't need a second bedroom yet

@@HyperfixatationInc What makes the story sad is that the parents no longer live there, most likely dying in a nursing home or are already dead.

Or just... The teen is now an adult , and moved to their own house , so the parents use their room for an office... You know , story of life 😅
@gracefoster7587

I thought it was sad because it shows the trend of people having less children due to the rising cost of caring for one and a larger emphasis on work so your own needs can be met

Hehe you know what we are going to ask……can you hop into cas and create the family? We could have fun updating them to match the time of the house☺️ imagine the teen girl for that super cute y2k room, oh the possibilities are endless. Loved the video❤️
Having lived through all these decades, it's so hilarious for me to remember the styles and go "Oh lord. Why did we DO THAT?" (Though there are definitely aspects of each decade that I'm very fond of. Ahhh nostalgia!!)
The dedication to these videos omg, the research, redoing the house multiple times. I love it, thank you syd for the great video!!

I had sooo much nostalgia with the decades before 2020, my aunt's (shes only a couple years older than me) house was literally the "modern farmhouse" live laugh love, everything white style in the mid-2010s when I was staying with her for college and that living room and kitchen area looked So Much like hers. It felt almost like I was walking into her old house again haha (My sister's style is now getting very close to the 2020 style as well, which is really interesting to me)
You come up with the most amazing ideas and im so excited for this amazing video. Thank you and wish you an amazing day and week.

@@sydmac You are truly welcome and I thank you so much.
I gotta say, the 2020s style home is definitely my favorite style. I love the closed floor plans and earthy tones. I guess the trends really do make an affect on opinion.
I enjoyed imagining this was a single mom and her daughter's home, when the girl was 9, then 19, then 29, and then 39 when she has moved out and then the mom upgraded her own bedroom and made a home office.
How the years went on. Kinda is like a family growing up and the new office from the kid room finally being changed was so cute. The kid finally had a very steady life of their own
I’m currently decorating my bathroom IRL and i’ve gone full on brown 2000s, i even have the same sink pedestal you chose! 😂

Such a fun video! The 90’s house reminded me so much of my childhood home. It was cool to see all the trends I’ve lived through. I love the 2020’s house. 😊

i’m always in love with literally every aesthetic you decorate with. i was wondering if you’re familiar with Kitsch style because it’s my favorite and i NEED a whole building of yours with kitsch style 🫠

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA! All of the renovations are gorgeous and so well done. You’re truly creative and it’s admirable how much effort you put into your videos.
I am a huge fan of the retro decades from 60s to 90s, maybe 2000s. You captured the more recent decades very well! I love this challenge!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how much work probably went into this video?? 😭 I absolutely love this idea! 💕
Honestly, i didn't think that all of this would done in one video! I thought each one would be on it's own because of the amount of work involved. Consider me very impressed! 👏👏
In 2012 my bedroom was HOT pink and zebra. Had a giant mustache with the hipster glasses picture over my bed. Also Starbucks logo/cups for decor LMAO
I love every video you do but this one was particularly impressive! Ever since I started watching your videos, I have become so much more confident and comfortable in my builds because of how you guide us through the process of your builds! Thank you so much!
This made me cry imagining that kid grew up, moved out and the parents moved into their room while turning their old room into an office 😢
Being young the 2010s home and the photos remind me of my grade school room and how our house still looks today with all grey, white, and turquoise. And we can’t forget the pink and black Paris themed rooms in the 2010s 😂
The 90s house is literally making me feel so nostalgic!!!! It reminds of when I would go to my friend Hannah's house when we were like 7!!! That kitchen really felt like home lol
Can you please do a roofing tutorial for different styles in the future? I feel like you could build anything, you‘re always so creative with your builds even if you just build it from a picture online, you just have such a good eye for everything 😍
Welcome back! A 40 minute video from you is such a treat after a tiring day and as usual, you did amazing. How you never seem to run out of creative juice? I'll never know.
This remodel is so cool! I loved hearing how each architecture style was different! I adore the 90's closed off style, it reminds me of my Nana's house
Amazing video!Love that you explain the styles of each decade a little bit.👍🏽

I'm so fascinated how different at least the outdoor trends from the US/Canada to Europe were/are. Interiors are very similar tho
The 90's Teen/ Young Adult Room is top tier 90's vibes... with the reference pictures yasssss. Smack on for later 80's/ early 90's babies. Our rooms were jam packed with colour, pattern and textures... the magazines, VHS tapes and clutter. Woohooo 😌💖
Yessss, welcome back Syd! So happy to see a 40-minute video pop up in the subscriptions from you, and the concept was so fun 😍
When you were decorating the 90’s house, I got an immediate flashback to the Sims 3. That’s how almost all houses looked like. Haaa… memories. 🫠
I don't mind if the video is longer, I actually get excited because your builds never disappoint✨

i love the background music u use in ur vids!! a personal fave is the song around 5-6 min in
Okay, love this! But!!! The 90s was all about the patterned linoleum flooring that curled up to the counters, which were the dark stained wood. I think this is when pantries were super popular, replacing the copious amounts of cabinets. But you did a fantastic job.
A 40 minute video just made my day a WHOLE LOT BETTER!
All in one video?! This was amazing. You have such a talent. It was so cool to watch the changes of each decade. Hope you had a great trip!
I love this concept and the long video! It's really entertaining to watch you renovate through the decades... hope you can do more of this!
At first I thought, "is there much difference between the decades?" But yes, yes there is. And you nailed it. My parents did their kitchen in late 90s it had turquoise and mint green cupboards. They redid it in 2020. It's a lot more grey. My house was build less than 10 years ago. Now we're working from home more we've been discussing closing of the computer space and making it more of an office area
Yesss I love the chonky videos!! Glad to have you back 💖
AMAZING! this is my absolute favourite video of yours, incredible talent!
You have such a lovely, distinct style that I just adore. You can always immediately tell its one of your builds, but each one is still fresh and unique. You're one of my favorite youtubers, youve got the best video ideas. Happy holidaysxx
everything was very spot on and i loved it!!
the cut to the 2010's Michael's aisle of inspirational word paintings lol. i totally flashed back
I love it ! You are my favorite sims content creator and this is why. Literally my source of inspiration to get out of my comfort zone for builds. The light in my dark building past.

i will never forget my grandma had carpet in her KITCHEN…i used to to get bad rug burns whenever i fell down in her house…it was everywhere except the bathroom..90s house trends were so weird.
So happy to see you back! 🤗The 90s kitchen brought back so many childhood memories and omg the y2k bedroom lol definitely very similar to my room then
I’ve been binging your videos a lot and they’re amazing! You’ve gotten me back into playing the sims and i’ve gotten a couple expansion packs as well, you’re definitely my favorite sims youtuber!! 💞
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I even got some ideas for when I have my own home...... yayyyyyyy
Awesome job ad always! 💜
I truly am a child of the 90s, because that one is my favorite. 😂
I've been having a really hard week and your video was a great thing to de-stress and distract myself with. 💚
when your house looks really similar to the 90s one but it was built in the 80s and has been lowkey updated over time with paint and new furniture 😭
this gave me another video idea omg! you should do this same renovating concept again but with the years of the sims 4! you can lump years together or whatever however you see fit but that would be really cool to see how the game evolved over the years and i think you would do it best! love your videos as usual and i knew i was missing something and it was your uploads! excited for the reality series too :)))) have a great day syd❤️😊
such a great video! so fun going through the decades. It's pretty crazy seeing all these trends now when there was once a time when you LOVED them and now they look so ridiculous...Also made me realize how much time and effort we put into renovating our real homes. like that's some crazy investment. newfound appreciation for my parents, who love home decorating and renovating. Would love to see a maximalist design!!
oh my gosh thank u for the garage tip!! right before u placed the roof, i was thinking how about the fact that i always want to build garages but i get so annoyed when it doesn’t look realistic because of how the entire foundation is higher than the ground level, so thank u for helping !!🥰
Yes I love these. This is my cozy place!
this video was amaaaazing!!! i actually LOVE the long videos, especially since it's christmas break from uni right now! and i love seeing the different decade trends. so cool!!

you are the only sims content creator i enjoy watching because of your videos. you are so creative 😩
Oh! I love this concept!
Loved this!
I'm convinced all sims 4 players could have a career in interior design. These houses are so cool 😭!
that 2000 living room and kitchen is literally the most 2000 thing i have ever seen. Also my parents definetly skipped the 2010s and 2020s phases. my house is still stuck in the 2000s
Such a fun video! Love seeing the same house redone through the decades :)
Awesome as always!!!!
I could see you being a KZreadr who easily hits the millions in the future because you really are so creative and you keep Sims content so fresh. I love your channel and appreciate the effort and time you so clearly pour into it. 💜
Loving the decades vids!!
You are so good at building, honestly an inspiration
that was really interesting and fun to watch!
Im not kidding, the 90s and 00s living room and kitchen WAS the house I grew up with and the 2010's is my current living room 🙈🙈
The whole build is amazing but I especially enjoyed the style accuracy of all the teen bedrooms! 😍
the quotes from 2010's are so accurate!! dark tumblr times
i love this so much syd! i found your channel just a week ago and it amazes me how creative you are, you can pull off any style of build and your creativity is out of this world!! you’ve definitely become my favorite sims youtuber 🤍

I absolutely love this video. I think it would have been really fun to create a teen room with high school years and pastel pop kit!
ooh just had a thought on a build/decor challenge - feng shui - the new year is all about good vibes and wishes for the coming year so what if you try to build or decorate going by feng shui rules to bring in all that luck for next year? if you pinterest search feng shui bedroom etc it brings up examples of appropriate layouts to bring on the positivity.
I think the tiny house idea would be perfect! Like a lot of the comments have said you definitely can tell the difference with 2010 and 2020
Found your channel today from the dollhouse video and i already subscribe love you, and this video was so good
