We are- a family of four,
Mum- Annie,
Dad-Bruce
Two children Elsie and Betsy
We decided to trade our busy life as home and business owners to chase the dream we’ve harboured for 10years.
How did we get here
After years of saying one day, we finally realised that these opportunities don’t just land in your lap and if we seriously wanted to make a difference to the Earth then we were going to have to stop talking about it and do it!
We sold all our stuff, got rid of the mortgage, sold our camper conversion business and landed in a dream come true. After traveling in our van we settled here in the west of Ireland. A place that has always been special to us. Annie is half Irish and since we met 13 years ago and she took me to meet her family i fell in love with Ireland too.
Now we’ve made this dream a reality there is no stopping us! our plan is to work hard, meet new people and learn new skills that will guide us on our journey of permaculture and creating a way of life that sings to us. One where we aren’t bound to the banks, working every hour and outsourcing all of our needs. A simple way of life, with connection to ourselves, each other, the earth and our community.

Great job. Nice to see some colour on the walls instead of white, grey or magnolia.

Bruce and 'TEAM' a brilliant job well done. There is nothing more rewarding than creating spaces I think, yes its hard work and yes there is an element of monotony but when its done how great and special does it feel!!! Looking forward to seeing more, have a great few weeks.

Oh my, you must be so happy to get the plaster boards on, the plastering done and painted. What are you going to do with the bottom areas of the walls? I see there are wood beams,? Are you going to put cabinets or drawers for storage? I was wondering why the plastering didn't go to the end of the wall. When we did our attic, we had the walls plastered all the way down to the floor and painted. The one area that wasn't plastered is a bit colder even with insulation. We did cabinets and drawers and with white paint its easier to see inside. The girls are going to love their new rooms!!!

We don't do ours like that in the US but we should seem so much easier then putting some on and then sanding it off and then putting some on and then sanding It Off.

I might make a giant mess of it but I'm going to try it because I've been avoiding it like the plague because of having to sand it makes such a big mess. I know it's a mess anyway but but I just want to say you did a fabulous job in that room looks gorgeous with the girls choices in color its perfection. Marie from Tennessee 🇺🇸

Wow, I know that there are several different ways to finish off drywall here in the states depending on which region of the US in which you live. Where I live, texture is added and none of the walls are smooth. When I lived in Kentucky, the walls were taped and floated along each seam and then just painted and left smooth so you saw any mistake. I’ve never seen plaster skim coated like that, and it’s really quite neat. Is it a smooth finish?

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11

Jesus this was a bit of a shock comment. You will not like my next vid then. I have built my new work benches using only off grid power but I then use OSB for the walls and top the benches with mdf so if you hate plaster board then MDF and OSB probs aren’t on your list of materials you like either. I still live in the yurt at the moment while I work on the cottage but the upstairs was always going to be plaster as I couldn’t afford to clad it. I’m not sure why you think I have sold out and I really don’t know why you think I’m grifting anyone I’m always using old materials. Even in the bench build using old teak for edge banding reclaimed purlins for the cross beams and round wood for the legs. When I was using old nails etc I had no money available. The name of the channel is just a name. It’s not a dogma. It’s just what I was doing at the time and I plan on getting back to offgrid builds. Just now focusing on getting my home to a point. I’m not forcing anyone to watch. It’s just a bit of fun and entertainment that makes me a very small income. Sorry if my channel has pissed you off it really isn’t my intention at all. It’s just supposed to be fun
