Ms. Fleming is naturally astude at giving Singers a "Teachers" recommendation whether future Professionals, Chorus, or Choir Singers. She Understands the Importance of relating Technicality & Musicality. So necessary as a Musician or Singer. That makes the difference between just Playing or Singing the Notes versus The Joy! Absolute Wonderful experience hearing her Master Class. D'ette K.Matthews

I've watched several of Ms. Fleming's Masterclasses where she has come off as being cold and uncompassionate when in fact, she's being objective and real. These videos aren't just for the particular student but present and future students who'll never have the honor of ever seeing Rene Fleming. Frankly, not necessarily in this instance, but having watched A LOT of these Masterclass videos I question what kind of education some of these supposed awesome music schools are giving. Seems like they're blowing smoke up their students to sustain enrollment. It's must be bad when I'm grimacing listening to a performance.

I love how the accompanist is introduced and they say *we* will be performing… I hope that becomes the norm. That first girl took zero direction at all. What a waste.

The voice is white and edgy. Chest breathing is evident. The directions she is given are a disconnected ramble of nonsense, abstract words that cannot be connected to any actions that have anything to do with vibrating vocal cords. A serious lack of understanding of vocal physiology is evident with this mish mash of vague directions. It all will end up in nothing and certainly will not, improve this singers voice.
