    I've used the normalization function, but had no idea what LUFS was or how to combine functions like normalizing to a target and using brick wall limiting. This tutorial has certainly expanded my knowledge. Thank you Kenny !

    Hello Kenny! Thanks for all the videos about REAPER. It helps so much! Quick question: is there a way to normalize or render a track with a maximum AND minimum peak level? Some clients ask me to normalize my audio files with peak values no more than -3 db and not less than -9 db without using a compressor... I know the feature is available on Adobe AUDITION but I was wondering how to it on REAPER. Thanks in advance!

  • @REAPERMania

    @REAPERMania

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes it is. You can limit the stems based on the gain reduction that would be applied to the master track (even if you don't render the master output), which is a little weird but ensures that the stems will re-mix back to the limited master. That was specifically requested by game people.

    Hi, beginner here, so just a simple question. When recording only vocal with full instrumental (one wav file), 1. How can I save as unprocessed vocal file? 2. After recording vocal, it only saves as vocal file only, it doesn't save both as one file? 3. Does using Gate is like using plugins to avoid the bleeding coming out from closed headphone?

    Yes and no. You can't hear the result in this window so I would say it's still better to put it on the master track. But this is a great time-saver for doing things quickly. Like if you had to render 30 stems that are not related to each other and you wanted to make sure none of them clipped.

  • @nibblrrr7124

    @nibblrrr7124

    2 жыл бұрын

    What functionality do you mean? The EL8 Distressor is a compressor/limiter, with fairly standard controls. (Maybe the adjustable sidechain high-pass filter is unusual - ReaComp actually has that.) I haven't yet had the pleasure of using one myself, but AFAIU what makes it special is that it has a really great "analog" sound, and you can switch between different compression curves & distortion characteristics. To maybe answer your question: Try the different compressor / limiter / distortion / waveshaping JS plugins that come with Reaper. Also try fiddling with the _Knee size, Hysteresis,_ and _Highpass_ settings in ReaComp. If you want to learn about the shortcomings of ReaComp, I highly recommend Dan Worall's videos on it.
