To show you an example of how amazing this thing is, I shall do a comparison! With my beloved weekend car, my modded, 2007 E420 CDI Mercedes. The RS25 Renault F1 engine is a 3.0L, naturally aspirated V10 and it makes 900hp and can rev up to almost 20000rpm! My prized garage princess has a Stage 1, modded 4.0L, twin-turbo V8 and makes 400hp and it redlines at 4500rpm, or about the same speed as this F1 engine's idle! That's how awesome the old F1 V10s were, God I miss those.

@jamsstar2010 you are correct. The injectors that are shown in the video are the secondary injectors and they only supply fuel past a certain RPM because the primaries can't supply the amount of fuel the engine requires at the higher RPM's. Any high revving engine will normally have secondary injectors including most Super Sport Motorcycles.

The maximum air that enters the engines is entirely determined by the volumetric efficiency of the engine at one atmosphere. The power is regulated by a typical butterfly valve located at the base of each of the 10 intake trumpets that controls the intake mix. Lambda or fuelair ratio is controlled by the ECM computer that adjusts the amount fuel that is released from the fuel injectors you see located above the 10 trumpetsThe basic principles you see here are electronic fuel injection

It would be interesting to know whether newer younger fans are as drawn to the beauty and the sheer brutality of the V10's and even the V8's. @HeyMarkedOne8 Uhhh ... they simulate races on the engine to test durabilty. This program the engine is running is probably from testing on some particular circuit (all the down shifting, the change in throttle, etc.).

those are ITBs... individual intake velocity stacks with injectors above them, all within the carbon fiber airbox. lovely sound :D

Hell, listening to any F1 car take Eau Rouge flat out is spine tingling. Just listening to all those RPMs being dulled by the G forces...

Imagine this rigged up to a race seat. with a G27 wheel while playing a racing sim. Best set up ever! I guess the engine is running off telemetry taken from a track and it is replicating exactly what throttle inputs and gear changes were made by the driver. I was trying to guess the circuit. It sounded like it was at Malaysia or China but I could be wrong. Thanks for uploading.

@mike3684 well the valves are pressurized by oil, not springs. If u had regular valves taken off of a street car the f1 couldn't go past idle speed. What blows me away is the injectors.

Actually a great observation. What you see is a standing wave that exists between the injector, near the top of the intake horn, and the valve. The high velocity fuel air mixture is actually started and stopped every two revolutions of the crank. At 20,000 RPM, that is 10,000 times per minute; that is about 160 times per second. a pressure wave is bounced back and forth between the intake valve as it closes, causing the high velocity fuel cloud mixture to bounce back when the valve closes, no where to go. Like throwing a baseball at the side of a building... bounces right back. So the pressure wave lifts also the vapor you can see, and sends it back up the Injector horn, then of course it is instantly sucked in on the intake stroke. Lots going on there.. you may not see.

No, it's nothing like a Diesel engine. Power out put in this F1 engine is controlled by regulating manifold pressure via 10 individual butterfly valves located at the base of each intake trumpet. The injectors here are like any typical EFI. They are used to maintain correct Lambda (air fuel ratio)
