The Renault Arkana went on sale in Ireland in 2021 priced from €28,990. It's a new SUV coupé for the French brand and slots in between the Captur and the Kadjar in the Renault range. The E-Tech Hybrid uses Renault's latest hybrid powertrain but is it any good? In this video Caroline reveals the real world economy of the new Renault Arkana Hybrid.
The Arkana SUV features a latest generation Renault interior and is also available in the sporty R.S. Line trim. The Arkana R.S. Line is featured in our video!

Great video Caroline. I was curious to know your thoughts on the car. I have a Kadjar 1.6 diesel which tho' it has less horsepower would have more torque than the etech Arkana and I get roughly 50mpg out of it. I note that you only got around 40 out of it due to the mixed driving you were doing in it and that's what has me feeling very mixed about it. I really like the look of the car but have read it's a bit gutless to drive and so I dunno if it'll be for me, I'd have to drive one to see because I'd prefer a diesel and the original Eastern Europe version of the Arkana did come with the 1.5 diesel and I do alot of motorway miles this is what is putting me off the Arkana tho' I'm a long way off a new car but I'm following all the reviews before the time comes to make my mind up.

Hi Steven, it is a lovely car and yes a diesel would be more efficient for the motorway miles from my experience anyway. Kadjar 1.6 is a great car! Let’s see what they do with the Kadjar replacement.

Thanks Keith, I think the other brands are still trying to catch up on the hybrid tech. This one isn’t bad but there are certainly more fuel efficient hybrids on sale

@@changinglanes_ie I've noticed the newer hybrids have tiny engines on big cars I watched your Austral review (brilliant) that has a 1.2. The UX has a 2.0 on Atkinson cycle. I read a bigger engine producing lower bhp per litre has greater longevity. The electric prices in Ireland are putting me off full ev. Subscribed and I appreciate the effort in your videos straight to the info I want to know with no guff and done nice. All the best for 2023🍀. And, many thanks.

@@keithireland6627 thanks so much Keith, I’ll try do a few more videos this year that go straight to the point. The smaller engines can get under pressure more quickly because you have to rev more to get anywhere. Different brands with different approaches I suppose but that’s why real world testing of consumption is necessary

Way off the claimed 60 mpg then .only 38.5 mpg ..hugely disappointing.
