The best musical “siblings”. Ren has called her his sister from another mister and a female version of himself due to their similar approach to music. For me I think it shows in the fact that they both have that something special that draws you in and demands attention. To see it fully for Chinchilla, check out her live version of Fingers. This song always reminds that one of the (many) things that makes Ren so great is his ability to know exactly when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence to get his message across. He isn’t flexing his guitar skills in this, just playing exactly what is needed with that beautiful guitar tone. And my favourite line in this is so simple, totally devoid of all the clever metaphors that he is so good at using, but it hits soooo hard: “I’m scared of being okay cause all things change”. I think anyone who has been through any struggles can relate to that feeling of not trusting that anything good will last. You can’t just enjoy it because you’re busy worrying about how long it will last and the feeling that will come when it’s gone. And then good days just make the darkness feel so much worse because you remember the light that’s gone… Ren is so special. He keeps being so relatable that it reminds us that we’re not alone. And we will always make room for more RENegades down the Ren rabbit hole cause we all need his light in the darkness 🐰🕳️ If you want more emotional singing from Ren, please check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and beautiful.

I’d love to see you react to some of Ren when he was with The Big Push. They were a Brighton based band that did amazing mashup of covers as well as their own original songs. Ren : Guitar, bass , piano and melodica , Romain Axisa : guitar , ukulele ( and one other that escapes my mind), Gorran Kendall : guitar, bass Glenn Chambers: drums BUT THEY HAVE NO FRONTMAN…because they all take that position in different songs- sometimes switching in one busking session.

I relate all too well with this song, I live in darkness every day, but I've been able to keep pushing forward so far. It goes a day at a time. Check out Mike Shinoda's "What the Words Meant". He wrote it in the wake of Chester's passing and perfectly captures the idea of "you can't know unless you've been there"

An excellent reaction Saeed. Like you, I've done the Sertraline thing (max dose, 4 years) - so you too will understand the "chalk outline". For me, it's the perfect analogy - being physically present, but emotionally absent. And yeah, that feeling good for a few days - coloured by the dread of the inevitable return... (I came off Sertraline "cold turkey" 3 years ago - I would NOT recommend it. It was absolute hell for 3-4 months, but ultimately, I'm so glad I'm no longer a chalk outline - at least I can now feel things again, whether good or bad).

Daisy (Chinchilla) Ren regards as his equivalent as she is a powerful writer, singer and producer in her own right. They have a lot of respect for each other and this is why the chemistry between them is seamless. Chinchilla is another rabbit hole as is Sam Tompkins and The Big Push ..all artists who have or work with Ren. Chinchilla tracks little girl gone , Fingers (go the live Vervo version) and for another Ren Collab you will love Chinchilla and Ren doing how to be me. Chinchilla and Ren doing sexual healing busking on the street is incredible .

Yes, I didn't know anything about the brain zaps, when I decided to quit my antidepressants cold turkey. It was the weirdest feeling and a weird brain zap is the best way to describe it. After I was off them, I got told that it's dangerous to quit them cold turkey. I haven't taken any since.

It is the weirdest feeling. I quit alcohol multiple times cold turkey before i knew it was lethal to do so. Very dangerous. And a horrific experience I would not wish upon anyone. Congratulations on your sobriety and take care.

I knew you'll love it. The hardest line for me is " such à perfect day, take it just in case". I mean you are in a point where you trust more that fcking pill than yourself, than the sun itself. I dont judge cause been there. Just saying. Love the reaction!

Chinchilla's absolutely fantastic, of course, but I'm completely in love with Ren's voice! It's the subtle little delicate touches, combined with that beautiful tone and every syllable dripping with emotion! Just fantastic! :) Btw, you think Ren needs a writer??? lol. :)

He definitely does not need a writer, but on a television show there most of the time (not always) multiple writers. One can dream right 😅

One dance by ren and chìñchillà

This one just triggers thoughts that one of the characters is dead and the other morning and possibly on their way to join them as they’ve possibly taken something. I just can’t figure out which one is the ghost first, or if they both are or aren’t because it’s not about them together it’s about them and the person they lost. Ok I hope that makes sense in some way cuz it made way more sense in my skull.

Don't burn out on the heavy stuff. Check out the Renegades suggestions. Ren catalog and friends is humongous. I suggest Animal flow.
