@@baobhansith5522 yes, I think so too. What 14 year olds know the streets, walk them late at night a thousand times, in high heel shoes and want to escape. People don’t pick up on this often, I think they are thrown off because Screech calls her a lady. But, I’m thinking he said lady because she seemed older than 14 years old as she probably would living a rough life, prostitute clothing, heels and probably a lot of makeup.
“Two twins are lying side by side…” they were born side by side AND they died side by side. Epic.
Violet's tale happened in 2005(two zero zero five). Jenny inherited her mother's silence. Screech inherited his father's violence. Their story happened 14 years later in 2019. An interesting bit is that Screech tries to knock on his friend Patrick's door he wasn't there then he calls his girlfriend who says she was busy. That's because Patrick was there and they were seeing each other behind Screech's back. The whole thing is a story about how history repeats especially in poorer areas. He is a brilliant storyteller. He describes his genre as "Bardcore" which I think is perfect. He's a modern day minstrel or bard...

Minstrel is the word I keep coming up with in my head. Playing 3 different styles for each track, all from wildly different time periods is mind blowing. The most talented musician I've seen...maybe in my entire life. It's crazy for one person to be so good at so many different things.

Only, those sounds are old Hollywood movie devices to indicate movement in time, or a dream sequence. They used a harp which added an ethereal quality. Ren used it well on his guitar, but it’s as old as “Talkies”.

Ren probably didn’t know that. He writes what he feels and he completely defies all genres. Mixing classical guitar with rap, storytelling genius unheard of since Eminem released Stan. He also plays rock music, reggae, raps like a boss, and makes his own beats. The guy has everything. The only thing I think his rap stuff is missing are doubles/triples and homophones. He uses a phrase in Genesis which could be counted as a whole sentence homophone with: Pupils dilate in the dark, People die late in the dark. Maybe he is concentrating more on storytelling and the whole song being a double or triple, rather than single lines. He is definitely special, unique and a musical genius.

Yes. Ren IS the Modern Bard. A totally immersive Story-Teller who's skills bring us right with him into the frame. He's not just a multi-talented artist, but also a powerful Social Commentator. We go on a journey with him, not as bystanders, but a 'Witnesses!' As one viewer put it; " I kept wanting to press pause and run to dial 911!" And, Maestro that he is, he leaves the Twist In The Tail right until the very last line. " He takes us on a Rollercoaster ride ending 'Smack!' into a Brick Wall!" His messaging is multi-layered. He's saying; we know the pathways the lead innocents like Jenny, Screech and Violet into becoming victims and/or perpetrators. Why aren't we doing more to stop this?! He's also saying / asking; Are we so habituated to violence now that we just murmur empty platitudes like; "Isn't that such a shame..." and then flick/ click away to the next 20 second sound bite on the News, or to something 'more entertaining'. YES - MAINSTEREAM NEEDS TO WAKE UP TO REN. NETFLIX needs to fling a couple hundred $ million at him and then leave him to create - with complete Artistic Independence. { I mean... $150 Mill to the Sussex's!?! For WHAT? } Compared to this level of Genius. His talent is simply jaw-dropping. # Just look at Ren's recently dropped 'Murderer'. { So many people are concrete thinkers, so simplistic and literal. They don't GET what he's saying! } Quite apart from Ren having the uber-level talent to be able to step into just about ANY Genre and turn it into a Master Class! >> LISTEN to the LYRICS. AGAIN - He's posing the Question AND providing the Answer. "What Makes a MURDERER?" He says; I was born F'd UP, a Drug Addicted Newborn, my life from childhood was messed up with fighting and mental illness, and look how I turned out! A psychopath who manipulates others with threats and violence, has no boundaries, will F your mother AND your daughter if given the chance, a short-trigger temper, and and absolutely no qualms about randomly killing just because he can.
To this date ”Hi Ren” got 15M views and this one got 2M. We’re getting there. Ren is a story-telling genious and his one take productions with only him, his guitar and Sam as camera man are IMMACULATE!
On the subtitles, at the very first few seconds, it shows this: In morte, ut in vita, numquam partiemur. Crevimus ad vocem eiusdem cordis Translation: In death, as in life, we shall never part. We have grown to the voice of the same heart
That line he sings up into the stairwell is so beautiful musically and so sad lyrically
The boy is an absolute living legend man. Can't get enough.
I see this trilogy as a deep reflection onto how trauma, unhealed, echoes out through time, till it burns itself out.

I think Ren himself came up with the term bardcore to describe his story type songs
I think one really impressive thing, is that even in his a capella /unaccompanied rap section in Violets tale, Ren stays on beat. All throughout until he picks up the guitar again... That's why the flow never stops. Really got me the first time I heard it!
One point I have only seen conveyed in these comments on any other reaction video is what Jenny does. She's a 14 year old girl, that walks the streets of London for 1000 times, in high heels... Her age is hidden during her tale, presented as a young woman, but then you understand she's Screech's age, 14 year old girl... the amount of layers you can thought through this trilogy is mesmerising. Found out I was not the only one catching this subliminal character arch. Thank you for your reaction, the rhyme breakdown is great, loved the poetry. Cheers from Portugal!
The genius and beauty of Ren's performances is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what to expect. These tales are a visceral, mind-boggling punch right in the head, heart, and soul 🤯 💔 Absolute storytelling brilliance!
No matter how many times I see this it blows me away..There are so many kids in the UK that are just like Screech.. even down to how he speaks.. everything. Ren totally nailed the temp of them. ☮️🇬🇧
You can't fake authenticity, and this feels so real. It hits hard (Hi Ren) because you know he's speaking truths from his soul.
I love how the reaction community is doing so much to promote Ren, sharing his story, and getting him the help and recognition he deserves!
This reminds me of a modern day Canterbury Tales individual stories that become intertwined; medieval bardlike, but modern day genius. The stories are totally believeable and makes one think; sad but refreshing all the same. A song that makes you think is long remembered. God Bless Ren for forcing us to not ignore real tragedy. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🇬🇧
It's also an interesting touch that violet is the colour of bruised skin and the girl who was beaten and bruised her entire life is called Violet. That may not have been intentional but given the rest of Ren's music....I wouldn't be surprised if he had thought that through too.
it's a new twist on traditional murder ballads. he's such a great storyteller, musician, and all round performer
You're absolutely spot on with the story! This is why I love Ren so much, hard hitting storytelling and pure raw emotion. When he was younger and busking he was actually discovered and signed by Sonys record label. Pretty much around the same time he found out about his auto immunity/Lyme Disease and became bed bound. Sony dropped him like a hat because if this before they even gave him a chance to show his potential. I bet they're kicking themselves now cause they missed out on such an amazing talent
Ren is the type of artist the world needs! thanks for your reaction!🙏
He tells the stories and the filming of the stories are done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every town, city, and country at this very moment and the cycle continues

I’ve just stumbled upon this young man. He’s clearly used to busking. His raw reality takes the gloss of music industry’s censorship away and puts it to shame. I’m really glad this found me this morning. Ren has brought back theatre in his work. And the camera person must be his best mate or someone. They work too well together not to be. I applaud them both. Absolutely stunning. It’s about time someone had a mind that forces the pulse to move 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
When I first watched first 2 parts a year ago or so, I thought amazing crime story, amazing single shot video, amazing song and performance, amazing live audio, so much emotion that is grabbing you etc. But the 3rd part (in which he improved more than I thought possible) not only adds a twist ending but also makes a very strong social commentary about the cycle of violence and poverty, which makes it so deep. Jenny behaving just like his mother being silent, and Screech being prone to violence just like his father (or like most boys growing in similar situations). Really amazing, I think the feelings I had are similar to the ones when I watched Fight Club the first time.

Been waiting for this!
Ren is a master of method acting. He even created an artwork, mixing realty and fantasy in an experimental way, he got so much backlash pushing the boundaries of art, he staged his phone being stolen by Screech, the character from this story. He then filmed his journey throughout a week. His fans thought it was real. You need to check that out! He is amazing on so many levels. He has allows his soul to be expressed freely. He is a role model. He is light. Music, acting, poetry and message united to help tell true stories. Taboo is brought to the surface and faced honestly. The broken and poor, the ignored. The ridiculed. The excluded. He is dedicated. He has master of timing, he's an insane rapper and lyrisist. Listen to Hunger and his Fisher Retake - the flows and double time are insane. He touches my soul, thats for sure.
All these stories lyrics poems are held together with thumbtacks and nails and sticky tape and they meld together and tear apart. Like a symphony of real life snapshots. Great work from you👏👍

You are the first reactor that thought what i did at the beginning of Warren G and Nate Dogg "Regulators"! Good catch. I'm sure he was influenced by them along with all of the other people that influenced him, i don't think it was on purpose but could be wrong because Ren is so smart and intentional about his work but the first time i heard this song all I could think was "Regulators, mount up!" Ren is not just creative, he is meaningful. And also he is impressive. I hardly remember who was the last time I heard (or saw) that could combine these both rare qualities. Being meaningful and impressive.
It seems you didn't notice, but Jenny's and Screech's tale happened (in story) 2019, and Violet's tale happened in 2-0-0-5 (it was in the first verse and outro of the song) as said in the song. It's also said Jenny and Screech were 14 when their tales happened. It took me listening to that part and looking at the lyrics to get that. It is so good seeing Ren get a lot for recognition for his fantastic and emotional stories and songs! Do you think it's possible then, that Violets father was the father of the twins?
@itrr
Жыл бұрын
@SirWeebs That could, in theory, be a possible outcome. We don't exactly know what Violet's father did, but we can take a guess. Considering we know that both her father and Stevie beat her, it can be likely that sexual abuse could also have happened from both males. But, it most likely would be Stevie's children rather than Violet's father's children as he would be more recent. But, thinking about it, possibly 🤔
@sirweebs2914

@@itrr I think her father was sexually abusing as the line "but never left the room" would heavily imply that. Other than that it's only theoretical but it would make the same sense for Screetch to be as violent as his father because as Ren said "history repeats itself he paints her black and blue" so we know Violets father was also violent so I guess we will never know. A thing I also consider is Stevie calling Violet "Slut" and "liar" all the time Wich would make sense if he felt like he couldn't be the father.

@SirWeebs I must have not been thinking of that line! But possibly, both could be a father to both or one twin 🤔 Your last thing, as that could be the case. I think it could also be that she never talks and just allows him to do whatever he wants to her. Other than that, I'm not really sure

You are the first person I have seen pick up on his use of the acustics of the stairwell and hallways. Really enjoy the depth of your reactions, breakdowns and interviews.
Jenny became like her mother a woman that freezes in silent instead of fleeing or fighting. Screech became his father a loud and violent unhinged piece of work. History repeats.
In Violets Tale, the way he uses the architecture/ acoustics to get sound effects- blows my mind. The videographer-WOW.
I'm at the start of your reaction to violet and I love how there is half the video left. It's the pinnacle and it's amazing
You were totally enthralled by this. It is an amazing trilogy and is possibly the most original and best stuff that I have heard in decades. You also picked up on a lot of the small details that makes the production amazing.
This was filmed in Brighton by the sea. The seagulls do duty as sirens. Amazing.
If you do speak to Ren, please do us all a favor; tell him NOT to sign with a label. He needs to own and control his art across all media. His music is valuable now and will become more so. But control of your own destiny is priceless. He can surely now see that he has a sizable and growing audience who will support him in his endeavors. There are many who will heap riches at his feet to keep his muse in gilded shoes if that's what he desires. But I don't think that's his priority, so why succumb? What can they offer him that his audience wouldn't rather pay him directly for? Who would enjoy his music less because it wasn't licensed by a major label? Would you refuse to watch a film he made because he chose not to be represented by an "important" agency? That whole system is broken and antiquated. Urge him not to do that or convince me that I'm wrong. Love your videos and wish you well!
My kids absolutely hate that I have this trilogy on repeat.. he tells this story so well and it captures the audience more than most movies and such.. it’s amazing and he has a genius mind

Great reaction, I'm so excited about Ren and just as excited watching others get excited about Ren. He's dominated my attention over the last few weeks. Even when at work his words run through my head. Fantastic. 💗
Thanks Anthony ! So great to enjoy this again with you on top of it !
Tomorrow 7:30pm UK time, Ren drops a new tune: His take on Bittersweet Symphony!!!! This is going to be something else!!!
I loved having the chat there, really added to the experience imo (I love seeing lots of different people being exposed to the same media and seeing their reactions, its fun) EDIT: Also, this is why I like your channel. Not just the pretty decent breakdown of his music, but also the bit at the end. You seem to genuinely care about good musicianship and the well-being of people you don't even know personally like Ren. You want to uplift and be uplifted, you get that mutual aid towards one another is beneficial to us all. Mad respect, first one of the myriad of react channels I've watched cover him to get my sub. Keep making great content, imma go check out your other stuff in the meantime.
updated every day in anticipation, thanks Anthony!
Great reaction. I love how he did this. It's performed so well.
I absolutely needed a reaction like this . One that forces you to just for a second step. Out of your picture and interact with theirs
Ren called his style Bardcore when responding to another reactor
I’ve been looking forward to this reaction! Love to see you do genesis and chalk outlines (live). Makes my heart happy to see Ren getting so much love!
Love the reaction, is an amazing song trilogy and deserves all the love it's getting, a modern day Shakespeare tragedy
Great reaction! Spot on with your insights. ❤
You nailed it. I’ve really enjoyed your reactions to Ren. Subscribed 👍
Just fire!! I’ve already watched a bunch of reactions to all of his music cuz I am addicted to these reactions!!!!
I love that you really just want to help him succeed, or to help his music be able to be heard and appreciated. I’m just recently discovering his talents as well and blown away. It’s great to be able to share the joy of discovering this with other people. Seeing them react and appreciate it as you do. Anyways solid job brother I enjoy ur resctions. Got a subscriber brother respect💯👊🏾🙏🏼
Great job as usual...
The Screech style he uses is like Kurt Weill’s collaborations with Bertold Brecht. They use estrangement technique. Perfect for here. Almost impossible to really feel sorry for Screech, so there’s a kind of mocking distance in the way he tells Schreech’s story but at the same time he is a victim too. Estrangement uses distance/alienation in order to force a new connection. How on earth does Ren manage to be a Shakesperean Bard and Kurt Weill at the same time?
Great reaction!!
Thank you. I love what you do. I love what Ren is. ❤❤❤
Did you see how Krizz Kalico hollered @ Ren? I was so fkn stoked to see K. Kal guesting on Black Pegasus, then they reacted to "Sick Boi", & K. Kal fkn loved it, as we all do, but I was especially thrilled to see an artist I've been listening to since back when K. Kal & Tech N9ne 1st started coming up together showing respect to an artist I just found a few wks ago & instantly dug. When K. Kal said it would be sick to do a piece w/Ren, I was like a kid @ Christmas, &, if that day does indeed come, I'll prob celebrate big!! Thanks for continuing to show this amazing artist so much love & also helping to invite more ppl to his party bc dude does deserve it, talent just oozes from his pores, & you deserve views & props too, my dude, always being real & respectful to the artists that you share w/us. Thank you, truly. ✌❤🌞
I personally saw these stories on tiktok, just few weeks before Hi Ren came out. Man it hit hard.
Thanks 4 showing me Ren. He's a magnificently unique artist. Keep grinding, stay healthy
that is a new way of musical art. ren set the mark. there is hope that the we are not lost as long as there come and are young artists like him
He will continue to be amazing if he decides to stay (as in alive) and if his autoimmune disease gets manageable or non-existent. He is a bright flame!
