Tidbits from barrington levy's "murderer", damian marleys "welcome to jamrock" and dr.dre's "the next episode" and ini kamozes "world a music (out in the streets they call it merther)" that is a sample on welcome to jamrock in there. Filmed in Los Angeles 3 days ago. Fun fact: "Merther" is basically the term for listening to reggae while smoking weed. The "merging" of it. Just loved it very much. Oh and also: There is a version of "murderer" from barrington levy featuring none other than rakim himself. Such a cool rendition and probably my favorite acoustic piece from ren.

That line "I have the will to survive" has much more meaning to me seeing Ren do this with a hospital bracelet on

Ren has talent and musicality from head to toe and all the way out to the tips of his fingers. I think I love this version even more with all the little scatting bits and the added/changed melodies. Just brilliant. The GOAT in the rabbit hole kills it again.

Believe it or not, those that know me know I'm actually quite the carpenter. I'm a carpenter's son and it came with the territory. As a high school kid, I built a lot of my own furniture hahaha

Ren filming this in L.A. and playing a quick tribute to Dr. Dre by playing the beat to his song "The Next Episode" during his last verse is God teir musicianship while being aware of your surroundings and music history!

i respectfully disagree that the mic in front of the 2nd player is to pick up a delay. at that distance it might only be 10ms (rough rule of thumb- 1ms per foot), which wouldn’t really be perceivable. i’m thinking they were going to have a backup vocal and decided against it last minute. or using the sm7 as a type of room mic to get a different eq profile of the performance. but since there’s no natural reflections of a room in this case, i don’t think the mic would pick up anything useful (as you said, have to add a huge amount of gain, which means more noise)

I don't really want to see Ren with his wood in his hands bro 😂😂😂😂
