He said in a recent interview in many of his songs he ends up crying while writing/singing them and that's one of the ways he knows they're something special. I'm honored to be alive at the same time as Ren. He's the Freddie Mercury of our generation but with more emotional depth.

Love this song. Its hard to hear the tears. There's a fantastic live version done just 9 months after they lost Joe - he plays it faster in order to get through it, but he makes it and its fantastic. I absolutely love Ren, and I've never said that about any musical artist in 58 years. If you know his story you cant help but want to try and offer some comfort and to let him know how much his music is helping so many..

This was a wonderful and respectful reaction. He said in the live performance of this. That it was the most important song he has ever written.

Thanks for your reaction my friend.. it just hurts so much to see one as kind as Ren suffering so much so young.. it’s heartbreaking.. I really think he has been put 😮 here to change the way we see things.. it is always said if you can reach one person the effect ripples.. well he touches many with his heart so I truly believe he has made an impact.. as for Joe I know that he changed Ren as a person as well.. he never blamed him but definitely gave him perspective when times were the worst for him to not go down that road after seeing the lasting effects it had on those around him that loved Joe.. First heard this song in the vid of Ren performing it live. It never fails to bring tears. The pain of a loved one removing themselves from this life is life-altering, and although the pain gets less jagged over time, it never goes. Love you Uncle Mo Mo. ❤

Couldn't agree more!

It's not my friend but Mum she died on the 6th of June and it still hurts like it was yesterday I hate the date has it approaches each year it maybe 8 years ago she left this earth and was free of the pain she was suffering from cancer but my heart breaks every year I love you mum and miss you so much Ren is certainly among the best artists around and you can feel the pain from what happened with Joe Great reaction again

Such a sad song but such a great tribute for his friend. Thanks for doing this buddy. RNLI is the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. All manned by volunteers and funded mostly from public donations. Ren did a live acoustic version only a few months after losing his friend too: Ren - Freckled Angels - Live At The Regal Room RIP Joe Hughes. Let's never forget his name. 💔💔

I also read is FB post and teared up a bit. I had known the story, but having Ren write out a deeper history of the friendship was amazing. I tried to use the link for the rescue group for a donation, did not work. He is also giving Joes family money from the Album.
