We laid my daughter to rest yesterday and I played this song along with Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix. You see, my daughter was also a freckled angel. Thank you Ren for writing a song that I could share with friends and family during our grief. You will always have a place in my heart.

July 1983 I lost my best friend in Uni, I don't make friends easily but the first year of Uni saw us crying with laughter as we regularly bounced off each others personalities. he was a true artistic talent and I used his standard as a level I needed to work hard to attain just to keep up. almost 40 years ago and it never leaves you, not fully, nor would i ever want it to Rest easy David

Ren - you will probably never read this but this song has hit a chord in me like a song never has, it has literally saved my life and I thank you for that. I was the one stood on the edge of a bridge not so long ago and this song talked me down it made me think of my boys who have supported me through life and how they would feel! But, it sounds like that experience ironically ended up saving you from a similar fate years later when you wanted to give up during the worst of your illness. @@ismaelb.9181 joe was one of ren’s best friends, they always hung out together and laughed, joking around, but around 8 months before ren released this song joe committed su!cide. It only gets sadder I’m sorry to say, but ren was with joe in a bar a few nights before joe died and joe told him how sad he was, then laughed it off and joe left, ren never saw him again. The night when it happened, one of ren’s other friends called him frantically in the middle of the night saying that joe was on a bridge a little while away from ren’s house, ren began running whilst trying to call joe, until the number went out of service. Ren was only 2 minutes away. Im pretty sure a portion of the money that ren earned from one of his recent songs; su!cide went to REN’s parents.

Lost my brother last September. He was larger than life, both figuratively and literally. Funniest guy you ever met, and could be fiercest too. I love Ren's talent, but had been avoiding this one because Ren always pulls so hard at my heartstrings... This one broke me in the most beautiful way. My brother's name is Joe too. Wasn't expecting the ending. Thank you Ren. You are a beautifully talented, amazing soul.

Such a fantastic Artist, Ren delivers on many levels. Many styles. Wish him all success in Canada. Wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully one day all his music will be available in a physical format, for a old timer like me.

Lost my wife in 2015. She was truly a special person to "save a wretch like me". This song took me by the heart and made me relive the good days and the hope that I'll see her again. Thank you, Ren...your music is affecting millions of people like myself.

Two weeks ago we said goodbye to my daughter’s 22 yr old best friend. She had a rare form of aggressive cancer no one knew about until it was too late. She was a daughter to us, too. This song really hits home.

The beauty of the lyrics are so powerful. Man this made me cry and realize times to short to live in the depths of pain. 😢

Not going to comment on the relationship and loss of Joe... which is absolutely, undeniably, something that's so personal... how the fuck can I say something you about it... in the year 2023... listening to something that was produced 6-7 years ago... is refreshing. and heartbreaking,and refreshing. its a weird juxtaposition. knowing the history and dealing with modern "ren". Such a beautiful tribute . In this world where we are but grains of sand, we are drawn down into the grist, ground down by life, but then stars appear to light our way.
