Hi, thanks a lot for this video, very helpful. I did this right now but with the rear axle still there, had the car on all four wheels and it was pretty easy to get out actually, but i think it would have taken twice as much time without this video.

Thank you. I can imagine with the axle still fitted it would be a tricky job but its not a bad job to do if removed. Just prepare to get filthy from the dirt!

Thanks for the shou out Tom, that diff guard is nice, of course, you have a short nose diff on the rear so it wont fit any axle. Good work Tom.. you should strip it totally like mine!! Those breather pipes from neck to tank always corrode and split. There was a recall for it I believe. The paint on the chassis, in fact all the black parts is crap Tom. I wouldnt be surprised if the underseal is lifting the original paint away. As you know, I also have a Mustang, 2017, and a lot of owners ahve paid to have their cars undersealed.. I however have not, for the very reason you show here.

Thanks Nigel. Going to try find the brand as they might make them for your diff. When the clutch failed i had a quick look around and it didnt look bad enough for a body off job. So started stripping it and added the A/C and paintong and changed plan etc. If i had known it was going to go this far into it i would have definately taken the body off. Yes i agree bloody rubbish. You would think after 50 years building them it would have been totally undersealed! I dont blame you! This black tar like underseal is rubbish! Probably ok for a few year but then causes more issues. Waxoyl is what i am going to put on when its finished.

@@lifes.projects I waxoyled all my enclosures including chassis, bulkhead and doors and there is not a spot of rust anywhere. I suggest washing your chassis out, bung the holes and fillit with water, then give it a good waxoyl inside. Did you see my video where I showed how good it was inside and under the front outriggers?

@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59 yes i saw it. Just proves what you are saying. My mum and dad had an F reg 90 when i was young, they waxoyled the chassis and the guy who did the MOT every year used to say its the cleanest landy hes been under so there more proof for you. I am going to give the chassis a good jet wash before attacking with the needle gun as most of the muck is stuck to the tar underseal too. Cant win with it haha

Big job but really worthwhile! Really neat diff guards you have👍i have no idea what brand they are though

Hi I look forward to your jobs & if its possible because I don't always hear what you say can you sometimes wright down the products you use in the job description under the video I tried looking for the paint you said you was using on the chassis I drew a blank unfortunately I've been using corroless paint with a brush & it feels like your spreading glue if I'm honest although it's seems to be highly rated I'm not a lover of it It chips straight back to the bare metal should you accidentally knock it Would be grateful thanks

Hi Anthony. Yes ive been having some issues with my external microphone so since taken it off and all seems ok at the minute. The primer is called Mio Guard uts not cheap but its good. Link: www.paints4trade.com/manor-hi-build-mio-zinc-phosphate-primer-2039-p.asp I get it from a local company but this is the same stuff. It sets solid so even if you bash the chassis the chassis paint will chip off but this seems to stay on! Its anti corrosive too. We use it at work on the trucks so i know what abuse it gets. Thank i will have a look. No it wasnt me as i follow nigel on here. He was wondering weather to fit a diff guard instead of doing the Gwyn Lewis diff pan so thought i would mention it.
