    Hi, thanks for watching the video. I did paint the kitchen, you can see it behind me. I used Zinsser Bullseye 123 primer and then Frenchic Alfresco (it's a chalk and mineral paint).

    Hi, great video! I’ve looked at the paints you used and it says that the Frenchic Alfresco range is self-sealing and self-promoting. Would you still recommend using the Bullseye primer first though?

    Thanks for this, very useful - one question is it the same process for the sides of the cabinets and plinth as well? (not the doors) - would you have to remove them from the walls?

  • @thisthatanddiy

    @thisthatanddiy

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi, no need to remove it from the sides, just scuff sand and use a primer suitable, something like Zinsser BIN. It doesn't peel away from the sides the way it peels off the doors. No need to remove the sides, just paint in place.

    Hello, I have a high gloss white kitchen which certain doors and the parts that go round them have gone yellow with the sun and I hate it every day but can’t afford a new kitchen. The ones next to the oven and on front of the dishwasher have started to peel away too. Would this work on those do you think? Thanks!

    Did you also remove the laminate from the kick board and ends of the cabinets/cabinet frames or did you paint over those? I'm planning this in my own kitchen and not sure if it's a good time saver to paint over those or will end up ruining the final look.

    So many tips, where to start 😅. Remove all doors and hardware, remove laminate as shown in the video and then clean the doors with sugar soap, when they dry give them a light sand just enough to key the surface (especially if it's MDF you don't want to sand too much) then prime, I used Zinsser Bullseye 123, I also used a mini roller, make sure it's a good quality one (I used two fussy blokes rollers), another light sand, wipe dust away, and paint with choosen paint. Mine took 3 coats of paint to get the finish I wanted. Make sure you allow enough drying time between each coat. I have another quick painting tip video, I'll put the link in the next comment. Are you on Instagram or FB? I'd love to see the finished result and then you can message me directly for more helpful tips if you want. 😊
