Removing Land Rover LR4 Dash Panels & Installing Ram Mount | Shifty Drifty
In this video, I remove some dashboard panels so I can get under my dash and securely mount a RAM Tough-Track. I'm using RAM Mounts to securely mount accessories like a GPS, Garmin InReach, and my iPhone.
This was a very simple install and cost about $30 all-in.

@RandyFarnes put a USB port on his dash and it looks great. I'm going to try to do the same soon.
Great video! I did something very similar in my LR4 (we have pretty similar setups) but I included a flush mount USB port just in front of the Tough Track. It works great for my phone charger and charging a camera because I don't have wires running down past the dash controls.

Nice installation. Were there components under the dash you had to be careful to avoid when drilling?

I had to avoid the center where the radio, touch screen, and other components are located. I didn't know exactly what was under the dash, so being able to remove the panels was a huge help. The air vents were my main concern, I was happy to find that there was about 1/2 inch clearance, plenty for a washer and nut.
How did you manage to remove part of the dash without breaking at least 3 of the clips ❓️I certainly never managed to do that. 😂😂
