    Jake, it was great that you took the time to show the homeowner the amount of rot in the stump which made this tree very dangerous. He won't have to worry about the cedar crashing into his house in a wind storm. Blessings to you and Gordy.

    Could you set a sling on the zip line to the tree so it sets the line where you are instead of the only attachment up at the top. Seems like your zip line would stay a lot more direct and move the sling up as you go. But I'm sure Gordy didn't mind the extra work :-)

    Jake. I'm looking for work as a climbing arborist in Norway and Sweden now. That looks like a lot of fun. I was wondering though. What if you hook at least the next branch (or a whole lot more) in order on to the rope. Basically creating a lower anchorpoint on the tree. It does two things i think. The lower anchorpoint prevents slack in the line. Making the limbs you cut go higher off the ground. Straighter to the anchor on the ground and missing more things on the way there. The 2nd thing is you can reach the rope immediately. So the person on the ground only has to tention the rope more inbetween branches as you go higher up. Im no expert. Hell i havent done more then rigging ropes up high to pull on the tree to make sure it falls the right direction or goes against a lean. I admire you. Keep the jokes, spirit and great content going.

  • @gamingsqaud22

    @gamingsqaud22

    10 ай бұрын

    you cant pull it as far from the tree if you anchor it to the limb above, with a higher termination you can create a much longer speedline than a lower termination. It is more efficient in my opinion to hook multiple up at once but for the tree he was the length of speed line was more important then getting it down fast. been a climber for 4 years, Guilty could have a whole bunch of other reasons though

  • @maxzzzie

    @maxzzzie

    10 ай бұрын

    @@gamingsqaud22 I see your reasoning. But a combination could be the best then. Do the lower branches lile he did. And the higher branches with lower anchor points.
