I'm still driving my 96 F250, 4x4 ,extended cab, 7.5 liter, auto trans, heavy duty, that I bought new. The first day when I arrived home from the dealership, I drove to the back 40 and got stuck it in some red clay, only because, the auto hub locks would not stay locked in. I pulled it out and drove straight to the local 4x4 shop and bought a new Warn manual hub kit, drove back home and changed them out. I drove to the 40 , got out and locked the hubs in, and idled on through the slick red clay with ease. Today I packed the bearings for the third time, and replaced the rotors and pads. I still like it better than any of the newer trucks from Ford , Chevy, or Dodge.

rule # 1 after jacking any vehicle off the ground and especially before removing the tires so you can work on it put a jack stand under the frame and ease the weight from the jack down on the stand didn't see one under this truck - come getcha some in ft Smith AR has a new design lock nut retaining clip for a whole lot less than 130 for both sides

You may need to very slightly loosen the nut to remove the clip. Do not remove the nut without removing the clip because you will break the clip. I'm not able to answer the lbs question sorry.

Thanks for doing this it helped a bunch. I've pulled the spindle nut but the hub won't come off. Wheel bearing turns freely but noisy. The hub will not come off! I knocked the lug bolts out on the vehicle thinking that would free the hub up but its not budging. Working a prybar between the rotor and the hub but no give. Question for you. In the vid you only pulled one hub nut out. A lot of the videos show 2 hub nuts with a locking washer between. Was there only 1 nut on yours. If there's another nut in mine there is nothing to hold it to turn. I think it's just the edge of the race but I'm not sure. Any info you could give me would certainly be appreciated. Thanks for your video again. Doug Henson

Safety! Please don't rely upon your hydraulic jack to keep things elevated while you are working on a vehicle. Vehicle should be on a firm, level surface with wheels chocked against movement forward AND backward. Use jack stands equal or better than your vehicle's weight (jack stands are ridiculously inexpensive). Make sure they are also set up on a firm, level surface. If you are working alone, make sure you have your phone readily at hand and your jack in a position to lift or also readily at hand just in case something goes horribly wrong.

Precursor:(DO NOT TURN AXLE NUT WITHOUT REMOVING C-CLIP YOU WILL FUCK IT UP AND LIKE TIM SAID $120 FOR A KIT or A TRIP TO YOUR LOCAL JUNKYARD)Tim great video but you failed to point out which washer(1st or 3rd) has the internal spline grooves for the shaft. That happens to be my damn dilemma right now.Tools needed in order of use are;T-25 torx bit for the dust cap,2 small screw drivers for the retaining ring, snap ring pliers for snap ring, needle nose pliers and or small screw driver for washers, small screw drivers or magnet for retaining c-clip.You may have to use the axle nut socket and tighten or loosen just a tiny bit to relieve pressure on c-clip so it will come out easier. If you want the whole shebang a 2 3/4" axle nut socket(from NAPA with 1/2' drive for $11).Keep up the good work Tim and thanks,JB from St.Louie.GO CARDINALS and BLUES.
