No problem if the crankshaft is threaded to screw the prop, more difficult if this shaft is "plain" to receive a car clutch... Anyway, with its large head, your engine will be well cooled ;)

adjust your carb if you ever want good idle and top end, please every flight hold vertical for near max rpm cleanout...
Looks like a Traxxas standard motor starter!! I also have seen them on the Ofna cars.. I don't mean this comment as insult or down grading your efforts and work! if you find it so please feel free to remove it. Is just what pass through my mind when I see it..

It's far to be easy: you have to machine a special backplate , and insert a pin on the crankshaft to drive the starter shaft ... A FEMA starter is availlable for .40 engines.

will this work for my Kyosho gx15 engine thats in a ford rally car?

Interesting idea but for small plane will be a weight penalty and probably not worth it. For the larger gas engines though...

Really nice starter, but i think those starter motor too big.

+Tesfalem Rezene traxxas and ofna "Bugie or car engine starters" are available, what you need to make sure is that they fit with the same hole pattern on the back of your engine.

Nice experiment but would add way too much weight to a plane. just not practical. they are commercially available but really none of them are worth the loss of performance because of the weight.
How much nitro engine price? With propeller?
Please stop referring to glow plug engines as "NITRO " They may have a little nitromethane as an additive to the fuel, but it is mostly , about 75% , methanol with around 25% oil (castor oil) . Some "NITRO " ,about 10 to 15% helps with top end power and a more reliable idle , but if you really want more go , increase "NITRO " content to about 30% and reduce methanol by a corresponding amount . It will also help to disperse the extra heat if the oil ( castor oil ) content is increased slightly

That electric motor seems to have more than enough power to drive the prop. I'd remove that noisy IC engine ;-)
