    As someone that's living in a major city I wouldn't mind going there just to get away for a minute. Slow, peaceful, simple and boring can be a beautiful thing.

    I grew up in this town… I haven’t been back for quite a few years and to see my aunts house, the corner store Vennables. The empty lot where my great great grandfather had his house in that empty lot behind Vennables. Think my family still owns that land. My dad and brothers are there. Just reminds me of some of the good times there. All of Rayne doesn’t look like this. This is the black side of town, white side doesn’t look like that. This town is really separated by the railroad tracks.😢 I hope to go back one day. Sad to see my home town looking like this. 😞

    I love being in small old fashion towns,especially when the city have dirt roads and alot of pine trees ...To me small country towns are better because there's no noise pollution like Big Cities,the police don't fuck with you ,and you can have space to have a big barbecue with your fam..

  • @1n2333

    @1n2333

    Actually the police are far more likely to fuck with you here rather than a big city due to the fact that there is small area to cover and often too many officers per citizen. Small towns in south Louisiana are the complete opposite place you want to be if you don't want police to bother you.

    @@Adrian-xb1rx There was just a video 2 days ago of Reform police tasing a man in handcuffs after being harassed by them for changing his tire. Reform AL, look it up... This is very common in random small towns in all over the south as these police departments officers struggle to find eligible officers, they will hire anyone they can get. You might get lucky you might not. It's a huge gamble. It depends on if the town is ran by good people or not. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are places where you are much more likely to have your rights violated due to poor funding and minimal training. Also it's much easier for them to target you when the population is only 1-10k ppl vs. a huge city like 500k+. If you're able to live in a small towns in one of these States and the police has never fucked with you, consider yourself very blessed.

    Rain. A lot of Louisiana is at or below sea level. Once the ground gets too saturated, it starts to pool and flood. They call it “low country” in some parts.

  • @318DoubleE

    @318DoubleE

    The land changes over time in places where the top soil is clay, sand, or loose dirt. The rainwater erodes the sediments banks next to rivers, bayou’s, and lakes leading “bowls” as the drainage gets backed up. Years later, small hills will form in other areas from as those sediments deposit on top of each other from currents carrying them from another area.

    check out the cemetery. When the water table is 1/2 inch below, caskets tend to work their way up like a cork. A cement vault helps prevent that.

Hell across the tracks theres nothing but well made built homes. Rayne is nowhere closed to being hood now, the police steady patrolling now. 10-12 years ago though this place was a mess. And to add they built like 6-8 brand new homes on empty lots so all these bad looking houses are getting torn down for new homes getting build.
