    Awsome adventure Bryan. Reminds me of some of Hunting / Prospecting days a few years back. Always forgetting the knife or drink bottle or GPS or Pick. And going back with what I would imagine was an extremely sore shoulder took some guts. Your old doggo is a legend , No barking or carrying on but still lets you know theres villans afoot. Nice gold too. Thnks for the personal ore close ups.

    Not sure I can help Bryan. The old timers haven't left you much. Been thinking about your ball mill pick up tank. How would you go putting a sump plug in it? Would make it easy to flush out at the end of a run.

    Hadn't though of that Rick, would be a good idea. Just cemented a smooth surface inside the hopper though, so it will pick up nearly everything from now on. May have to sniff out the occasional chunk at the end still though. If it gets caught in a little nook.

    Jeez, that was like playing an Australian based far cry game! And holy shit that was so extremely badass man, and hell yeah man, the horrible pain you were clearly in and you just keep trucking on with one arm 💪 fuck yeah! But I'm glad you're alright! It's such a shame about the wild dogs out there as the two you got were gorgeous but unfortunately what you did had to be done, so good job man. That shotty is so fucking awesome looking as well. Sweet results with the testing and also the experimentation, mercury is so peculiar but such a memorizing thing to watch lol it's crazy when it fuses the gold together into random golden mega structures, some of them look absolutely wild when it's been with proper reef gold rather than river run smooth stuff, it's like some kinda modern art exhibit 😂

    High , only just found your channel, Love it ! At 69 yrs old not a nubby . I left tas in 75 , moved to QLD, wishing I stoped in Vic . I have rifles but can’t use them without a permit for private property which are thin on the ground and nonexistent on Crowne land . I have a ML 4500 metal detector with 6 different coils ! No match for a $10 pan . I built a high bread yabbie mump that sucks and blasted at the same times and catches about two ltrs of cons at the same time. Works great! Bit of a workout. Now illegal in QLD . I built a 12 V high banker with a shaker head capable of breaking down fist size chunks of hard clay to goo in less than 40 seconds with a 10 second feed rate! IEleagle now in QLD! I am not trying to brag just saying i have done the hard yards ! So one make the best of what you have and don’t show two much . Now a few questions are you a fossicker or a licensed miner? If you are a fossicker I won’t to sell up and move! Next your shaker , not knocking it every one I have seen like that has trouble, why not copy a half Jeanie slop and groove pattern they just work better same problems just better end game once it works the gold is 2 to 3 hundred mm from the tin same again to the silt , anyway enough of my rant love the show cheers 😊

  • @TheGoldmansChannel

    You've certainly done your hard yards Dennis! Well done. I'm just a prospector, not a miner. No special licenses needed for playing around in the creek or prospecting reefs. The rules here in Vic just stipulate we can't dig the product with machinery. Has to be dug by hand, can be processed however we like, though! I share videos of what some might consider "questionable activities" to exercise my rights as a prospector. It's important we all do that, and don't tip toe around the subject. Exercise and stand up for our rights or we will lose them!

    That's awesome what happens with the silver does it amalgamate as well and mix with the gold in the retort and what happens to the mercury?

  • @TheGoldmansChannel

    @TheGoldmansChannel

    7 ай бұрын

    Howdy mate! Great question. With most gold, reef included, the silver is already alloyed with the gold from its formation. So the gold is essentially just slightly diluted by the silver. The mercury picks it up just the same seen as its a part of the gold. If I need to retort the mercury to find my finished gold, i simply squeeze the excess mercury out through a cloth and then retort the small remaining mercury off (heat it until it turns to gas, then cool it so it turns back to its liquid metal form). I lose very very little mercury using that method, so I can essentially reuse the same little blob for quite a long time.

    @@TheGoldmansChannel Hell yeah! Hey, so I moved to Las Vegas or Henderson Nevada. This place is loaded with gold silver and copper mines! You know gold and silver are pretty damn awesome. I always tell everyone that God was having a great day when he created copper. It is one of my favorite minerals and extraction is so simple a toddler can do it. Heat or chemical extraction it's that simple. Of course like any ore you need to crush it to release as much of said minerals as possible for extraction. I've been out and had boots on the ground and through Google Earth and USGS maps and reports I may have stumbled upon something of great potential in significant amounts. This particular thing sits below the surface through layers of ancient river gravel and cemented clay that acts like a false bedrock. In short a underground placer drift mine. Or paleo placer deposit. I'm sampling to see what it could be and if it would be worth my time. In two hours I found some nice chunky wire like specimens and if my prediction is correct the streak is about 40 feet/12.192 meters down from the top to the actual rich deposit that I was poking around in with a metal detector and pick. I'm gonna go back as many times as it takes and find out if I stumble upon something the old timers may have overlooked or maybe the landscape changed after 150 years 🧐 anyways I am glad you are still kicking and hold on tight 2024 is going to be one hell of a ride. I pray we all make it alive and intact. 🤙✌️

    Far out $120 a head. Could make a living on that. Nsw needs schemes like this for rabbits, carp and mice. Would make hella difference. Only problem is people then exploit those schemes and breed these feral species and profit. Something needs to be done, whether it's competition to eradicate carp from fisheries or licenced shooters tagging and also harvesting a resource aswell, whether it's for human or animal consumption. These things do not belong on this land and we as a people must to our utmost to Fix what our forefathers have done... Edit: shoulder dislocations suck. I had mine reconstructed at 25, something like 20 prior dislocatons or subluxes. Nothing like being all alone in the scrub with a dislocation, lying on the floor, trying to get up 1 handed. Haha well done for getting it on video, surely one for the story books!😅
