I have owned 2 small cottages on private islands in Lake St Clair and as an realtor I have sold several others for clients. Leaving the 'contents' is kind of a tradition. Seller saves the hassle of hauling off and buyer saves the hassle of hauling back on. First one I bought I was loading stuff on my boat at the marina and an old gent asked "do you own one of those Lug Islands?". I gave him a confused look and he said "you know the ones you lug stuff to and lug stuff from" .....LOL - I bet you guys can relate!

Ahhhh! To be young and on the water again🤗 The best vacation with my 2 younger brothers in our teens was 2 weeks camping on Lake James in early '80's. Rope swings, floating on intertubes, early morning fishing from the john boat, skiing and no rain!! I slept in a tent and they slept on the flip out seats on an old Dixie. Those were the days🇺🇸 Sadly now, land locked and no camping anymore. The free world is slipping away😢

I think we’ll probably add bunks back into one of the bedrooms we make!! just wasn’t a good use of space running them across the length of the whole house like that. but I agree! bunks are great for kids or even visiting friends

It's very interesting what you guys are posting. Entertainmentwise, this is a wonderful and refreshing channel to watch because of the content and narration. The way you talk is through your video is refreshing and informative. Most youtubers has a monotone irritating way of talking. You narrate as if you're talking to a friend, explaining what's going on. I've just joined your channel, saw all your videos ('cause I'm in bed for a few weeks after hurting my back at work). We love your channel and love the new house.

You remind me so much of my time in middle of State Forest in Pennsylvania. Our road was snowmobile trail 7 miles to mailbox and civilization. We had to haul materials in and out on a snowmobile trailer in the winter it was hard but I was younger. I look back on it fondly even though I couldn’t do it now.

Progress is a good word to cover this video. Now that things are opened up it will be easier to make a more concrete plan . I know the current floats are styrofoam and you want to replace them with foam filled floats , as with your new home. Are you using bladders you can fill with air to raise the entire unit and change out a side and then the middle ? Once you do raise the base you will have a better look at the supporting timbers. ( just trying to think through the jobs before you do them ) I look forward to the next installment . All the best, Hal

You’re pretty close to spot on! One way you can re-float it is to take it out of the water altogether. Very expensive though haha. We’ll most likely be doing it in the water with lift floats. Will share that process on here of course! 😊

I can only imagine how hot it was for you both in the house in the middle of the summer with no a/c, putting in all that sweat equity! Each wall you rip away shows more and more how well this place was built. It is coming along nicely - you both move fast and work hard! I will be in NC at the end of October...do you think the house might be ready for sale by that time? Also, this is a random question, but did you initially have any trouble acclimating Iko to living on the water? I have many questions, and a high level of interest in this house, but don't want to flood your video comments with them.

Ahh thank you so much! Hmm it’s hard to say but I would doubt we’d have it done by the end of october. Probably by Christmas? Not 100% sure. You’d be more than welcome to come check it out when you are in the area if you think you might be interested in buying 😊 Honestly no, it was very natural and easy with Iko. But even before we moved onto the water, we were spending time on the lake most every day after work & she was going to work with Brandon at the marina. So she was already very familiar with boats, the lake, the marina, etc. 🙌
