Remnant 2 - Labyrinth Sentinel Boss Fight

Simply put, this boss sucks. The whole idea is finding the glowing squares, shooting them, and either avoiding the cube or hiding in the broken spots (being off-center will still kill you). In addition to this, you'll also need to constantly avoid attacks from above. These will frequently kill you if you let them, so don't be afraid to shoot them. Finally, the cubes follow a set rotation, but it isn't completely set. Safe spaces will often change, so even if you survive the in the far left square the first two times, it will crush you on the third one.

    I love this boss. It’s designed so well from a design perspective, and challenging from a gameplay perspective. “It’s just cubes. How would this challenge me?” And then it’s too late. You realize how bad positioning will kill you. How reacting prematurely will get you killed. How reacting too late is fatal. It’s perfectly frustrating. The only time you die is when you misunderstand. It’s a perfect gateway boss, being so overwhelming yet simple in design. It’s a test, a way to show you that it’s not just about perfect dodges and healing off damage. Healing does very little in this fight. If you don’t read your surroundings and make quick decisions based on context clues: You. Will. Die. And every other boss is like that. You have to move, and you can’t shrug off every blow. Labrynth Sentinel is a perfect boss.

    I absolutely agree with it being a well designed boss. I even love that breaking off pieces makes it progressively easier by giving players a place to hide. However, even that will rotate and change, so you can't mindlessly stand in a single spot and win. You need to be aware of the rotation, and after a certain point it comes down to awareness over dodging/healing more.

    This is probably one of my favorite designs of the genre. It only took me 3 tries and I hope to see more unique takes on bosses in the future

    well personally I find this one of my least favorite and the most annoying boss fight to deal with ( you know at least that's okay I was a bit more forgivable at least since the two wings does in respawn after that taking it out) wait for a Nerf or at least keep progression as well as dealing with the small lasers you can easily shoot as well as one big giant Cube attack cool idea but overly hard

    That's fair. It's a cool looking boss, but one of the easiest to fail. The only problem I have with it is how easy it would end a hardcore run.

    @@akilarodrigues7065 right? I agree though AdmiralVic about the Hardcore run ender. My main complaint for this bosses is pretty much they zero mistake cut. I loved tough fights, it's the whole reason I play games like this. But instant kill mechanics are always a bad call to me if it's not worked in properly.

    I got down to one more shot 3 times in a row…. Design is great but it’s not a boss fight I will remember fondly.

    What a load of bullsh*t....absolutely frustrating . Being a Dark Souls veteran ..this really is bad , I mean creativity wise it's fine but it should have been optional. it's not even hard but one shot kill is damn annoying.
