Great review, good to see a sensible approach to a budget gun. On the other hand, we are going through a period of terrible names given to airguns!

I watched Giles fom Airgun gear show, hit spinners out at 50 yards with this same gun and it was barely audible the gun was that quiet, he tried different pellets and the H&N Trophy were the most suitable for this gun, that review is 8 years old now

Thank goodness a reviewer who actually knows how to shoot springers. Get so fed up with reviewers shooting springers straight of a rest/bag like a PCP. Good job buddy, subbed. 👍👍👍

Looks a lot ofgun for the money I had a Remington x p it performed just as good as my HW80🎉 No probs

Nice to see a good review of what you would get if buying one and recommending a better scope but still using the supplied one - a true review of the package well done

I have two pcp guns (ixia,pretensis) both 177's that i would love to see you try out for your knowledgeable opinion. Looking forward to more videos in future.😊

Thanks very much Robert. I've shot both those rifles and the are great. Reximex is a great brand and we've reviewed the Myth on here. I also used a Pretensis in one of the Airgun Action shows - great rifle! We'll try and feature a few more .177 rifles, though to be honest, we get what we get from the manufacturers...! Great review. To be honest I am very impressed with the rifles Remington have out there at the moment and there bang for buck prices. I think the Thunder Ceptor would warrant some gun tape around it & the plastic barrel protector, that is the only thing i have a small issue with. They could of done a lot better there and made a metal one and pulled costs back by not supplying a scope with it, in imo. However, it does sound wonderful when firing and a great hit thwack sound , good shooting as well with that budget scope. I imagine with a £70-100 half decent scope this thing will be a very good rifle to have about. 👍🏻

Thanks Jason. The one in the first part is a 'Tipton Compact Range Vise' - www.amazon.co.uk/Tipton-Non-Marring-Transport-Cleaning-Maintenance/dp/B00UUBLYGS. On the range itself, I don't know the brand (Caldwell I think?) but its just a bog standard bag rest filled with sand. I hope that helps!"

If it's anything like the Benjamin Trail series, the barrel shroud is removable by way of allen key much like the Weihrauch HW97k and kt. I put an after market carbon fiber barrel shroud on my Benjamin Trail NP All Weather and what a difference it makes in weight and aethetics!

Unfortunately the shroud is glued on. I'm sure it can be removed, but not what damage you'd cause and whether there's a 1/2" UNF underneath anyway. My advice would be to leave well alone and enjoy the Thunder Ceptor as it!

No anti bear trap safety on that rifle buddy. Same here as with the HW77/97. Just an intern extra safety latch you cant pull the trigger when the barrel is in cocked position. The trigger unit is the only thing that holds the piston. Anti bear trap is something totally different. The FWB300 for example has an anti bear trap system that avoids the side lever jumping back when it should be released in any position. If you release the barrel from that Remington half way when cocking it will jump back and smash your teeth out. Cheers!

@@alphamilitaria2756 NO! It is not. Release the barrel half way cocking and you'll find it out the hard way. Bear trap is undependable from the trigger unit and a safety on it self. TX200 (not all modells) , FWB300. The TX you have to disengage the bear trap by pressing the button to push the lever back. Separate safety also. FWB does it automatically when the piston is secured by the trigger unit. All you YT guys are telling the same thing you hear from each other. Do your own research or think for yourself. If you review a rifle with good chequering on the stock than it's great and has a good hold in wet weather conditions. If a rifle has no chequering or bad or even on a stupid place, not a word. The only reply you can come with is "i never had issues with it" I don't believe you are an independent channel.

What size is the tube on the included scope as I would prefer to swap out the mounts and is it the same scope on the thunderjet?

Hi. It's a 25mm scope. I can't say for sure, but I suspect a scope sold with the Thunder Jet, is the same, or very similar. Thanks for watching.

Hi Richard sorry to go off subject but I’m desperately trying to get a review of the 2 shot webley raider just wondering if you may have any info from a past review I’m also told there may be a conversation kit to a 10 or 12 shot magazine thanks for your great channel. Glyn.

Hi Glyn. As I'm sure you know, the 2 Shot is an older rifle and to be honest, I've not come across one, let alone shot one. So too is the 10. I did review a 12 a few years back and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed - from memory it seemed very notchy. It could be that the one I had was just a bad example as I know plenty of people rate them. The budget to mid price range is stuffed full of rifles right now and picking one is tricky. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Good group for a £200 rifle 👍

Like all springers and gas rams, they can be extremely hold sensitive. Yes, obviously a better scope would help, but I did notice quite a bit of muzzle flip. Perhaps that could be controlled a little better. Very good shooting though, with a sub £200 rifle out of the box. 👍🏻

A friend of mine had one of these in .177 , he put a hawke air max on it and he couldn't get it to group, tryed many different pellets in it, not good , whoudn't recommend for hunting, 👍

Sorry your friend didn't have much luck. I can only report on the rifle I had on test and it was pretty good. Fine for short range pest control.

i am sure that the gun is worth the money , but i dont like the rebranding these days remington is a china airgun . not the only brand . many guns are china turkisch .spain hungary and more with a fames name, the anti bear trap is a non safety , if the sear breaks if you loosening he lockfront lock ring of the scope, many fixed scope`s can be parralax adjusted , bij little in or out turning of the objectif lens module

Well, where a thing is manufactured isn't the same as its brand. You may be right in terms of where the rifle is made (I don't know), but the brand is Remington. An anti-bear trap is a safety feature but I agree with you, and as I said in the video, hold onto the barrel when cocking in case it fails. And unfortunately, non-parallax adjustable scopes - like the one in the video - are just that - non parallax adjustable. Thanks for watching.

Yes, some scopes have a collar at the front just behind the objective lens which you turn to adjust the parallax. They are called adjustable parallax scopes. This scope is non-adjustable - so there is nothing to turn at the front. The rear adjustment is ocular adjustment - nothing to do with parallax adjustment.@@peteralexben

@@alphamilitaria2756 a fixedcscope with a lock ring can also be adjusted .how do you think they do it at the factory . Turn the ring loos most there is a small silver or brass ring between. And only a little right or left turn needed to get the parallax correct .and turn the lockring tight

@@alphamilitaria2756 many low budget fixed scopes are a littlebit out of focus .the image and target are not in the same point .but that can easy be adjusted in most scopes .without damage .some scopes are locktited ..most not
