Extra notes:
- Usually if I'm doing it in the shower, I don't bother with shaving foam - the shower is more than enough to keep it smooth. I just used the foam here to keep it nice and slippery since I don't have water running on it.
- When the shaver makes that "brrt brrt brrt brrt" sound when you go too fast, all you have to do is lift it off for a second, wait, then keep going (at a slower pace this time).
- Moving it in circles (rather than back and forth in a line) seems to be mandatory for me if I don't shave for a week. Usually this is never a problem because I shave every day.
- The shaving foam I used is Shave Gel Sensitive (Gillette make it) - (see the link above). But any decent foam/gel/cream should work.
- Make sure you empty out the shaver a couple times if your hairs are long (once or twice during the shave). It does a better job if it's not full.

    After using this for a couple of months, I definitely suggest wetting your head or using it in the shower. I was using this dry for a while and the cut isn't nearly as close. I also had a problem spot where I would need to go over it quite a bit, but in the shower it cuts close without any worries. I was pretty suspicious of the whole waterproof thing, but so far so good. Also, a drop of oil on each blade once a week doesn't hurt.

    First off, I really enjoy your videos. You come across natural ad relaxed and that’s good. Too may people on KZread try and be this persona where as I think it’s better if your natural personality comes through (except for those people who don’t have one haha) I’m so tempted to get one of these. The ONLY thing stopping me is that I spent around £300 on a Braun series 9 which is amazing!! But it takes a while to go over the rough patches to get it super smooth so makes it a big event each time.

  • @baldmandating

    @baldmandating

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks man, appreciate it. I haven't tried out the Braun series 9 so I can't say whether it's better than the Remington or not. (In future when this channel is built up, I'll re-invest any money I get from the channel into buying other razors/equipment and reviewing them). With the rough patches - I do have to go over rough patches a little bit with the Remington (same with the other shaver I reviewed - the SkullShaver Pitbull Pro). But that only takes like... 10 seconds per rough patch. Is the Braun taking you longer than that, per rough patch? If so, might be worth trying the remington (or Pitbull - both are equally as good for me). But at the end of the day it's your money; I can't tell you how to spend it.

  • @boriswindsor-lockhorne2449

    @boriswindsor-lockhorne2449

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@baldmandating yeah I think that’s a good idea. Even some of the Chinese stuff from amazon can be ok, cheap and good for reviewing. Don’t get me wrong the series 9 really is amazing and gets so close even rubbing against the grain is smooth as silk once I’m done. I think it’s just that it’s foil not rotary and my hair grows in different directions so maybe the rotary in circles will help with that. I’ve actually put in an order for the Remington after watching your vid last night but cos I’m away atm it’ll take a few weeks to come to me where I am. I’m looking. Forward to trying it tho for sure. Plus the Remington will be easier and quicker for daily/eod use.

  • @peterkemp7546

    @peterkemp7546

    I have both. The Braun is quicker and gives a closer head shave. Best for daily use. But the Remington is great too and I tend to use if it I’ve not shaved for a couple of days, as it seems better for those occasions. If I had to choose just one, it’d be the Braun. (It can also be used for face shaving, of course, unlike the Remington.)

  • @Frichilsasta08

    @Frichilsasta08

    I have this. It isnt good on incredibly thick hair. The blades will get caught and make a buzzing kind of noise. It's only good with thin hair grown out from a bald head. That's 2-4 days ideally. You should be fine. I've tried with shaving cream but the blades get caught a bit and make that buzzing noise. I don't think you even need shaving cream, just water. With the shower head water on your scalp, you should be getting a smooth shave.

    I don't - try lotion/moisturiser afterwards? Also try not pushing too firmly (don't press down with the shaver too hard). Try cleaning the blades with some disinfectant or alcohol spray - there may be some bacteria in there that's causing irritation. If none of that works, your neck may just be a sensitive area. Can always just use the remington on your head, and do the back of your neck with a beard trimmer/shaper, or a tradition razer. Lemme know how you go. And 195kg bench is legit man. Hope you didn't lose too much strength over 2020 (I did - gyms were closed in my city for 8 months)
