No, wood was clean just getting dry so I just rubbed in some fresh oil. I did a complete refinish on the M1 Garand stock you see in video but not the shotgun. Take care.
Does the Linseed Oil soak in and dry or does it leave an oily surface that could get on your clothes when you shoulder the firearm??

I've used boiled on a number of firearm stocks & canoe paddles with great results. If not mistaken, boiled is not actually boiled, but rather contains additives that shorten drying time. Raw linseed oil is safe to use on butcher blocks etc. where you might not want to use boiled which is not food safe. The key to a great finish is many thin coats. A drop on fingertip as shown if the video, then spread over the entire surface. Once covered I often use the palm of my hand with enough pressure that I can feel heat build up from friction.
Im doing this tonight with my newly acquired Ithaca xl900. The finish is almost off
