Remington 7615 Long Term Review

Here is my long term review on the Remington 7615, pump action 5.56 NATO rifle. This is an awesome rifle with a pretty unique history.
All firearms handling, shooting, and demonstration is done on my private firing range on my property. All shooting is done in a safe and controlled environment, and whilst promoting safety and responsibility.

    love this little gun dude bought one about 2 years ago and instantly was impressed being an Aussie this riffle is as close as we can get to an AR15. Very effective goat hunting riffle and gives me peace of mind knowing its in the safe if things go south. Awesome fun to shoot but does get warm after pumping them rounds down range. Sweet video.

    I love mine! It's my favorite of all my guns, i just put a FAB defense folding stock on it so now I can fit it into my backpack. Regarding the Wilson Combat sights, Ive used them at 200 meters and could hit a 12 inch steel plate consistently. Ive since upgraded to a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot and love it, but have left the peep sight on as back up. Great rifle. One advantage is that its not picky about ammunition ( although Ive heard some people have trouble with steel cases). I never have. The other good thing is that you can make some quiet rounds for it. I use trail boss powder and make some rounds that are about on par to a 22 subsonic if not quieter.

    Is the shell stripper a problem on the 7615? I read it would break easily, especially if you change mags with the bolt closed and therefore must only change mags with the pump action pulled back all the way.

    A couple of things. My sources said that it is based on the 870 20 guage platform and as you mentioned the manual of arms is the same except for the magazine. I have ARs, as do many I know, and me and the people I have let use it, like the way it handles better than the AR and you don't lose that much on the cyclic rate of fire. One thing is that should you ever find yourself in court due to a self or home defense situation...that like, with a lever action, there is less of a 'black gun' aura about it which may bode better with a jury than an AR yet you have access to the same kind of defensive capabilities as an AR. I wish they still made them and made them in other calibers.

  • @ArchetypeofMan

    @ArchetypeofMan

    You bring up valid points for sure. However, one of the beautiful things about the AR15, in my opinion, is its ability to be used one handed, if need be. Certainly not ideal, but it's there.

    @@ArchetypeofMan @The Hungry Handgunner Though difficult and takes longer, most folks proficient with a pump shotgun, can fire it with one hand. I have not tried it with the 7615p but since the manual of arms are the same, I'm sure it can be done. From a shotgun perspective the Benelli M3 would be the best of both worlds. One handed shooting would be easier with a lever platform vs pump.
