    Don't use an awl to remove roll pins in the trigger assembly. You'll need roll pin punches. Won't damage the pins.

    My NIB 582, ca. 1982, had a mag tube that stopped at the end of the forearm.

    This video brings back memories for me. Decades ago I used the Remington 582 to pass my first Hunter's Safety course in Colorado. It wasn't fancy. It just worked, as long as you respected it's needs. It was one of the straightest shooting rifles I have ever owned. Thanks for the video!

    For an excellent video on how to service the trigger, check out the KZread video by the Cumberland Outdoorsman. He has vast knowledge of the Remington 580 series rifles. The 580, 581, and 582 all use the same identical triggers. It’s vital the procedures he offers are followed to insure you do not damage the aluminum trigger housing and that the assembly goes back together clean, serviceable, and safe. This is no job for a jack leg gunsmithing. He also offers excellent cleaning tips. He offers a wide range of helpful and informative .22 information. Like you mentioned, there are very few videos out here addressing the 582. Yours offers useful information on the disassembly/reassembly. I own three of these little marvels as well as three of the 581’s, all tack drivers.

    All true. Thanks for posting the extra information! I haven't looked in a while, but the only video I found for trigger disassembly was someone was fixing a trigger assembly that had glue poured into it. Can't imagine why glue would be in there, either an intentional sabotage to disable a firearm or just some kids being stupid. Trigger assembly disassembly on this firearm It's not for the amateur and should be done very carefully; and should be done only if absolutely necessary. Thank you for your reply! good stuff!

    @@glenvanocker4027 after searching for several years, the Cumberland Outdoorsman found a 582 with a mahogany stock and recently did a video on this rifle that compliments yours. You are absolutely right, the trigger assembly on this rifle is not one for amateurs and should be approached only with care to detail or by a competent gunsmith, safety is foremost. I am a .22 junkie and love all things .22. Thanks again for your video.

    It may be your bolt not engaging the seer correctly. Get brave. you may want to try to take the rear portion of your bolt apart and inspect it. Particularly where the bolt & firing pin assy engages the seer. Otherwise, it may be your trigger assembly. Take your time disassembling your trigger assy, it has lots of springs that can go flying everywhere. Watch this video by TDCtactical: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZqqrpaHdtKwo84.html Excellent trigger disassembly video.

    Home Depot. Tool department. You could use a 16oz carpenter's hammer. But I recommend the heavier 2lb ball ping. Fix it right up.

    Yup, looked up that pin that is sheered off on that assembly... It is called the "Magazine Pin". It actually holds the end cap _"Magazine plug" in place. You may have to carefully drill out that pin, then the "Magazine plug" should come out. When you release that plug, the spring and yellow plastic "magazine follower" will all come out through the plug end. Order the Magazine pin from a parts supplier, it should not be too much. but, if you can find a gromet that will fit in that and secure it, gee whiz, it's only a pin to hold the magazine assembly in place. I would not worry about getting too technical about it. Otherwise, I am sure you could find the entire "Inner magazine assembly" online. God, If I could find the website where I bought the front site from, I'll post it in this reply and under the video....

    Is that a safety on the back or a bolt release?

  • @glenvanocker4027

    @glenvanocker4027

    5 жыл бұрын

    Short answer, Yes.... to both. That is both the safety and the bolt release. Rear position = Safe: Middle position = Fire: Forward position = Bolt release. The Forward position is spring loaded to return back to the fire position. So if you want to release the bolt, you have to hold the safety in the forward position. As indicated, do not point the rifle upward when engaging the bolt release, the bolt will drop to the ground. Thanks for the question!

    Dear Mr Q Citizen: First, I applaud you for being so engaged in the spiritual health of society today. Something that is servery lacking due to the absence of intelligent cognitive ability contained within the human race. To retort, autotuned Country Disco is severely underrated. You can look forward to my next video that will be enhanced by will be some home grown, overly produced, basement studio, modern, autotuned, country disco accompaniment; sans the pedal steel. As for my attire, I'll have you know that my silk tuxedo (with tails) was presently at the tailor to be modified to a larger size due to the over-consumption of my favorite brand: Hamms (deluxe,) carefully crafted brew from the land of the sky blue waters; then on to the dry cleaners to remove some stubborn stains. Kind gentleman, I am insulted in your presumption that my eclectic taste is lacking. You have lost focus that the really important aspect of life is to be able to blow the balls off of a gnat from 100 yards with open sights. I'll have you know that this important aspect of existence was overlooked in your post. Boomshanka, Mr. El-Duderino Esq.
