I want to add that I love the detail in MM when Miles lands on a point he wobbles a bit and when he's web swinging he flails a bit because he's so inexperienced. It's a nice detail when they could've just given him the same cycle as Peter.

Everyone should give this game a try if you're able to! Everything about this game is top notch in quality, and the story itself is more heartfelt than I was expecting. As far as nitpicks, if you're not much into "busy work" when it comes to side content in your open world games, that can get repetitive and tiresome at times in this game, but even then, you're not really going to care because of how insanely fun and addictive it is to swing around New York! That never for a second got old. Give this game a try! You'll not be disappointed!

I think the thing that redeems the side content is the cool ass suits and how fun it is to traverse

The snow and the holiday decorations made Miles Morales look extra special.

Just started playing this game with my son. He absolutely loves swinging through the city. I think one thing a lot of these spiderman games have done very well over the years is improving the movement. All your movement and abilities feel so fluid.

This is a good video for people with Alzheimer's. Thanks man 👍

I was just a kid at only 26 years old when the first insomniac spiderman game dropped can't believe I'm just about 30 NOW. Where in the hell did those years go. Back then the world was my oyster I was only 4 years into marriage with two kids while finishing up my undergrad and two thirds of the way to my mid life crisis, and barely knee in deep in my first existential crisis. Hard to believe how things change. Now I'm 7 years into marriage still somehow a father of two kids, and paying 40 percent more on rent than the market price was back then. My PS4 pro is long gone now and it feels like only a year and some change since I got my ol PS5 during the worst health crisis in the last 100 years and on the cusp of ww3....damn those were the days.

Miles morales ps5 was the first game i played on ps5 too since it was bundled with the ps5 i got, i also payed the extra 25 quid to get spiderman remastered. weird how they never did a physical release of spiderman remastered for ps5 it only digital

If I remember right, the official explanation for the face change had something to do with the original face model's bone structure not being a good match to Yuri Lowenthal's own facial bone structure. They were able to hide this pretty well with the less graphically advanced tech on the PS4, but when making the jump to the PS5, the more advanced tech made the inconsistencies between the face model and Yuri's own motion capture more noticeable, to the point where it really became a problem. So with the old face essentially being unusable now, they had to find a new model with a facial bone structure that was closer to Yuri's. This is the result. Personally, I'm fine with the change. I liked the old face, but I honestly don't have a problem with the new one. I was actually surprised at how quickly I was able to get used to it. If you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick, then sure, I like the old face better, but I can still see this new Peter Parker as Peter Parker, and given the choice between a face change and a voice change, I'll happily take the face change.

I also think that the team has had less time with the new face, so their animations for it aren’t on point just yet, especially not for a full remaster. Comparing the face in Miles Morales to the Remaster, it’s a massive improvement in facial movements. They just have to learn to use that face in the best way possible. Peter still looks like Peter Parker too, so there’s not really a reason to complain, IMO.

I play SM Remastered + Miles Morales. Didnt play the original release and I havent got any problem with the new face. I think it suits really well with the character.

@@Mrsplifferdoodle I know. I was in that position. I got the game Christmas of that year, and it was great, and I loved the face, but I didn’t mind the change as much as other people. Even after multiple playthroughs on Ultimate Difficulty and getting the Platinum on the OG version, the face change isn’t one that bothers me that much.

I remember this game! It’s only been 5 months since I’ve played them! Just playing with you retro rebound. Great vid!

These are newer games than what is usually shown on Retro Rebound but i'll take it, Insomniac totally nailed building on the foundation that Treyarch established in 2004 and i'm just going to say it, Yuri Lowenthal is the best Spider-Man portrayal that has ever been done, he nails the quips, he nails the serious moments and he is really likeable as the character :)

With all the surprisingly fun side content I never noticed how short miles morales is. And the combat and movement in it is way better in my opinion than 2018. Both are some of the best games I've ever played and can't wait for 2.

I love Spider-Man and insomniac made me a huge fan of their work ever since.

So many good memories playing these in my early adulthood - my first two platinum trophies ever!

It is what it is. It looks ok/fine but not better than the 1st model. I understand people frustrations about this but Insomniac had been said that they ain't changing it back multiple times It's been 2 years now and they haven't changed their stance. It's time to put that to bed. The only way that people will see that old face model is when someone mod the game

I remember finally getting a PS5 in April 2022 and playing Miles morales, what an experience, somehow completely forgot those games even happened it’s been so long!! Really solidified my late teens

Just playing this on ps5 game pass. Just as good as i remembered. I am currently in heist dlc. Dlcs i have not played before.

I remember playing the first Marvel’s Spider-Man for the ps4 back in 2018 and it has the be the best ever Spider-Man Game with Miles Morales

always been an xbox guy but recently i found a ps4 pro for DIRT cheap at a pawn shop decided to grab it to play all the AAA exclusives i have missed over the last 10 years and holy i don't even care that they are 30 fps these games are amazing and look incredible ( even more so with the graphical and rez improvements from the pro)

i didn't think it was possible, but somehow Miles Morales managed to perfect the web swinging, or it least really close to it. and they did that in like 1.5 years of development! so im super excited to see what they do with the swinging and graphics in Spider-man 2.

2018 was leagues better than miles morales but I agree that miles morales had generally less filler and was better trimmed.

What a coincidence! I just got my hands on miles morales on sale for 30 bucks and beat it in three days. What a great game. Though not worth the 50 dollar price tag it’s at now. That steal I got at 30 was 110% worth the purchase. And spider man PS4 is possibly my personal favorite game I have played since fallout 4.

Cant wait for the 3rd one to come out

The remastered face model is so much better in my opinion. It’s gonna be so much better in the sequel when they have more time and resources animating the facial expressions 👌🏻

Love love love. Everything matty you said I agree with. Except for 2 things. I came into the new look Peter Parker on my first play through and I like the look better. Sorry friend. And, while Yuri Lowenthal is a fantastic voice actor, Cam Clarke is the best voice actor. Gotta love the Leonardo voice actor!

im fine with the new face to be honest, ive replayed the remastered version and Miles Morales too many times so the face is kinda natural at this point. i think he just needs a cooler hair cut, he looks 23 in my opinion, not fresh out of highschool. he also looks unassuming, you'd never expect this kind of guy to be spider-man, and i like that.

These are such great games. I hope that one day Insomniac gets to make a Sonic Game.

Currently playing Miles Morales for the first time and loving it. I loved the first game but was upset when Sony marketed MM as it's own game when it is essentially a DLC. Charging $70 for MM as a PS5 launch title was just plain wrong. I picked it up for $30 which I still think was too much but it's a fun and very short game. Another great video Matty!

@@miked3018 oh ok. And yeah it’s a little steep but I spent 50 hours on MM so far. I platinumed the ps4 version and the ps5 version. For the amount of time I spent on it, it’s easily $1 a hour. I loved the game although it is kinda short, it’s quality packed to the max
