As a Texas Tech alum all I can say is Raider nation NEVER stopped loving coach Leach. It was one of the darkest days of our program to see him go. We love you coach, I for one will never forget you. Thank you for all the memories. RIP Coach.

My daughters were students during the Leach era at WSU. One actually worked in town and brought Mike his tea between breaks on the Mike Leach Radio Show at Zeppos in Pullman. I told them how lucky they were to be there during Mikes run at WSU as they went to all the games. I went all of the Dad's Weekend games and an Apple Cup. It sure was fun watching them throw the ball all over the place and Gardner Minshew was icing on the cake. CROSSED SWORDS RIP COACH GO COUGS!

I’m a die hard Razorback fan and have zero ties to Mike Leach and I called him by his name instead of coach because from a far I’ve always admired him as a person. He is and will always be an amazing mind to study and try to look at things like he did. Thank you all for this segment. Bless the Leach family.

Rest in Power Coach. I’m a MS State fan and was quite excited when he was hired on. I’ve known about his career from the previous programs he coached at. I always admired him and his quality to just be himself and quirky. He will be missed not as a coach but as a good human being.

I was so excited when he came to Miss State. I am a Gator and huge Steve Spurrier fan, but Mike Leach offense made Spurrier's look like it was running backwards. I always loved hearing him talk. I kept up with him from the time he was a TT thru MIss State. This guy was special, the more of the stories I hear about the more special he becomes. ♥ Mike Leach.

So many coaches follow a pattern and all sound the same in their interviews. Leach was unique.. witty, intelligent, and could talk at length on subjects not football. He made the world a better place for him being here.

RIP, coach Leach. You inspired my love in WSU after some challenging periods in the program. I continued to follow you, despite no longer coaching WSU and am saddened to read and hear this news. You will be sorely missed in the football committee and outside of it. May your family take peace knowing you inspired so many to pursue excellence.

I'm not big into college football (Between my Patriots & the Bucs, I get enough football lolol). Plus my alma mater had a very mediocre program for a big school (BU) which has long been dropped. Watched this out of curiousity because it was all over the sports news & I had no clue who he was. This made me sad and mourn/miss a man I only recently heard about. What a lovely tribute!

I never knew about him when he was alive. I clicked on a video while I was walking my dog and ended up binge watching Mike Leach videos. What an interesting guy. He seems to have had an extraordinary impact on those who knew him.

I try to be grateful for the time he gave to us, but I was looking forward to see him go against Heupel and Freeze and Beamer and of course welcoming Texas and Oklahoma. It’s like having a great meal and looking forward to a dessert that never comes.

Vol fan here and was so pi$$ed off when I found out our ignorant Chancellor blocked his hire when he was really wanting to be our coach. She fired the AD that secretly flew out to hire him and put Fulmer in as AD and he hired Jeremy Pruitt SMDH 🙄 It's got to be one of the biggest Coaching hire debacles in all of college football. Mike Leach would have had us back to prominence in college football and a person that didn't have a clue about football set us back years.Thank goodness we hired one of Mike's protégés in Josh Heupel but I often think of what could have been. RIP 🙏 Pirate gone far too soon but your legacy will live on forever.
