His bass lines are ingrained into my bones. My Sunday Feeling, Beggar's Farm, Nothing is Easy. Just today I had A New Day Yesterday cranked up....the way he and Clive Bunker play that powerfully frantic ending...just marvelous! This was great to watch. An outstanding array of clips and music. Thank you!
When I was about 14 or 15, my introduction to Jethro Tull was “Stand Up”. I loved the “pop up” gatefold sleeve, the hand drawn artwork of the boys, and musically - wow. Every song a gem. I remember being particularly impressed (and still am!) of Glenn’s bass solo on “Bouree’ “… RIP

One of the most underrated and overlooked bassist in rock history. I saw him a few times with early Tull in 1969 and then in 1970 at the Fillmore East Benefit Tour where Cactus opened for them and I got to sit in front of Tim Bogert and Glenn Cornick in one evening.
Two years later ...haven't changed my mind..one of the finest Rock Bassists in history...Glenn Cornick !!
When you listen to these tracks you realise how important Glenn's funky bass sound was to the early band.
One of the better bassists from back in my day. I hate to see this happen as it inevitably must. Glenn and Clive Bunker were an unbeatable team.
Part of my life, Jethro Tull and my younger years, and 69yrs., still a Tull fan!!...🍁
Jethro Tull's original and greatest bassist. Tull lost a lot when they let him go. His bass playing was never matched by anyone else in Tull. R.I.P. Glenn Cornick, you were fantastic.

@@fabiocollina I'm with you on this one; Jeffrey wasn't a great bass player - his bass lines were written for him and he learned them by rote - he was great on stage though. I think JT had three truly great (and very different) bass players; Glenn, John Glascock and Dave Pegg, although I always think of Peggy as first and foremost Fairport's bassist and that his best playing is with Fairport. Glenn was perfect for Tull at the time he was in the band. John Glascock was uniquely talented and so important to the albums he played on - they would have been significantly different without his bass lines.
Back to the Family... Is the song Glenn and Clive crushed live and on album Stand Up..just ripps and dives and slaps you right in the Face to attention. Legendary
Glenn left the band after conflicts arose because of artistic differences with Ian Anderson. IOM the group was never the same. For me Benefit and Stand up are the only two albums that are worth listening to. I was just starting college when Stand up was released and we played it Non stop till the grooves were worn out. Glenn was more of a creative force in the group than anyone realized. Sorely missed.

Interesting comment. All of us, including musicians need to move on to grow. Benefit and Stand Up are two of my favorite Tull albums, but hardly the only ones worth listening to. Anderson and Barre continued to grow and had a great run before their creative wells ran dry. Sadly, without a nice tribute video like this, only die-hard fans of JT would know who Glenn was and almost certainly, most of the views here are the die-hard Tull fans.

An awesome contribution to the underground music scene some 50 yrs ago. Thank you Glenn and Jethro Tull. 🙏
The best Bass player JT ever had. He was the reason I wanted a Gibson bass so much. A critical part of the early JT success. Superb player
Glenn's mum seems such a wonderful and charming person, "give me a kiss", "behave", I love this sequence. And I love her gracious and lovely smile...it affects me every time I watching this.
Glenn Cornick left us far too soon. He was a part of making some great timeless music with Jethro Tull. This was a nice tribute. Rest In Peace Glenn.
An absolute gent and top bassist, his stint in Tull should have been as long as Martin
A date took me to the Top Rank in Southampton around 69/70, to listen to a Flute player. I wasn't too enthused as it sounded too folky for my taste. Suddenly Ian Anderson leapt out onto the stage .. like a mythical woodland being and I wasn't totally entranced by him and his band...thank you.
Glenn was an excellent bassist. RIP.
My dad saw Jethro Tull play The Warehouse in New Orleans in 1970. He stood right in front of Glenn. When telling the story of the performance I always heard of the “bassist with the headband “ that was fantastic. Now I can put a name to a face...and headband.
That was a wonderful tribute to Glen. Thank you. I always really appreciated his playing. Great to see him given such respect.
Early Jethro Tull was beautiful magic.
I befriended Glenn back in the 90s in Long Island at a Tull convention.. we continued our friendship over the years and had the pleasure of having him spend a weekend at my house in NJ… miss you my good friend… till me meet again….
Glenn was a charismatic character in Jethro Tull. He also looked cooler than anyone else in the band.
Hail Glenn Cornick a true musicians musician and master of the bass, farewell!
Glenn and Clive were the rock that Tull was built upon. They were the foundation of everything that the band had originally created. Together they were as good as any rhythm section, ever! I got to see them for the first time in 69, and live, Glenn was as much of the show as Ian! So animated!!!
He was kind enough to communicate with me over several emails. He told me he was almost named Alastair instead of Glenn. RIP I loved your music. You saved my life.
I emailed Glenn about ten years ago about something, because I had gone to his site out of curiosity, and he was so nice and shot me back an email and even mentioned the Green Bay Packers, because I live in Wisconsin. R.I.P Glenn. Saw Tull four times. Twice with Glenn.
I love everything Tull has done, but for me, Benifit is my favorite album. I never saw Tull live, but I did see Glen’s solo band Wild Turkey, it was a good show, he was a great bass player!
Glenn was a giant. He stands alone on his pedestal.RIP, my brother.
Glenn had it all, in terms of a bass player. He was very solid, his parts were interesting and actually made it feel like the songs really moved! Very sad to learn of his passing. He was a cool and friendly dude and knew how to groove. RIP Glenn Cornick
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Glen when he lived in California. Always the English gentlemen. A great bassist and a great man.

Glenn was one of the very best I ever saw. Plus he was as good live as he was on record. Classically beautiful.
Glenn was a huge influence on me as a bass player.
Still one of my all-time favorite bass players.
Glenn kept up Ian's musical complexities True musician!! "Oh Glenn"
Anderson is a brilliant musician and the band had several great versions, and all the bassists were always terrific. But Glen was a truly rare artist with a unique voice that gave a special quality to that original line up. And in many ways it was never equaled.
What a showman Glenn was. He's almost as energetic as Ian himself! Together with Clive what a wild great live band they were!
Glenn was a true innovator in his very creative bass playing.
Glenn Cornick a couple of months ago, Jack Bruce a few days ago and Carl Radle a number of years ago; we've lost some great bass players over the years. Thanks to them for their artistry and commitment to the instrument, an inspiration to many of us.
Tull went through a lot of different styles which I loved for all sorts of reasons but Glenn's bass was such a part of that early Tull sound, from his stand out solos in such songs as Bourée and Living in the Past to his solid work in so many of the songs from This Was until his removal from the group. A damn shame that he went though I remember that "reunion" that the original four did at the start of the 2000s. Good vid.
I was put off by his look at first...the hippie headband etc...being a bass player myself it was only recently I went back and listened to his work and realized just what an awesome bass player he was...rip Glenn I will always appreciate you from now on
what a great bassist and a good guy!
Glenn and Clive. That’s my Tull rhythm section.
Glen was such an incredible bass player and musician. I still think his bass solo on Bouree is the best of rock and roll. Glen, thanks for your music and may you rest in peace.

It was indeed a nice solo and usually bass solos don't need to happen, but because Glenn was so creative and talented, it worked out really well! I spent a couple of hours back when I was 18 learning that whole song, solo included. Loved playing it over and over again.
Back in the early 70's my room mate was a drummer. He turned me on to Jethro Tull. Benefit was a favorite. Saw them 3 times. One of the greatest bands of ALL TIME. So unique so talented. Living in the Past, what a great tune. Brings me back to my youth.
I emailed Glenn about 15 years ago, and he wrote back. He was so cool. I loved his bass playing. I'm a huge Tull fan. I wish I'd printed out his email. That was about three computers ago.
Nicely crafted tribute to an essential part of the early Jethro Tull sound. Loved his headband trademark and the fact that he visibly seemed to really enjoy playing. Great to see him remembered so fondly.
I have the two Wild Turkey albums . They are great . Glenn wrote most of the songs but not all . Twin lead guitars , they must have sounded like The Allman Bros. in concert . With Glenn's great bass playing . A Welsh Berry Oakley !
First saw Tull not long after Glenn's ejection but managed to find him eventually around spring of '74 on one of the last Wild Turkey gigs in Portsmouth. Just brilliant!!

Belated thanks for this tribute. Had the honor of meeting Glenn at a concert followed by a Tull Convention in NY. I was standing in the back of the theater watching Tull perform. Noticed the guy standing next to me was none other than Glenn Cornick!! Shook hands and said how much I appreciated the music of Tull, particularly the earlier works. He said thanks and noted it was a pity that Ian's voice had gone. Saw him perform with other members at the convention. Incredibly nice guy. RIP

Excellent tribute video. Glenn was such a unique and tactile bassist. Free-spirited and melodic.
The soundtrack of this beautifully made video proves what an integral part of Tull's music Glenn Cornick was. His bass playing personified the music every bit as much as Ian's flute. Living in the Past, Bouree, and the other songs in this video demonstrate how vital Glenn Cornick was to this band. And he seemed like such a fun, cool guy! RiP Glenn.
Incredible bass player.
Great tribute to a wonderful bass player, even by the high standards of Tull Glenn was a great musician, brought a tear to my ancient eye!
I saw Tull first in 69 and "Stand Up ",Benefit ",and "This Was" will always be my favorites.
His "Bouree" is the reason I wanted to play bass guitar. Never saw a picture of Glenn with the same bass, lol. He must have had quite a collection.
What a GREAT compilation. When I did the Roots To Branches album Martin got tired of me asking "Glenn Questions" every day!!
Glen Cornick (R.I.P.) and was one the best and most original bass players Tull ever had or any other band during that time. Listen to the first 3 Tull albums and how Cornick is playing a lot of very sophisticated stuff, "Bourrée" really shows off Cornick's playing even doing a solo. He had the most musical training and helped with arranging early songs. In 2006, I began an email relationship with Glenn until his death. He was a very polite and humble guy, even taking the time to listen my Album that I just released. He was very open writing about his time with Tull. He said he got sacked from the band because he was more of a rocker than the other members who did not like to party and hang out with groupies like he did. By 1970, after Tull got really successful, Glenn would take a copy of his Motel room key and hang it from his belt so a groupie could grab it and meet him later. Her wrote that the other members were not as much into partying and groupies which created a fissure. When Ian's good friend Jeffrey Hammond was released from prison in 1970, Ian sacked Glenn so he could have his friend in the band. Glenn wrote that he was not really that upset being scaked because he didn't like the musical direction Tull was heading which was more like Progressive Rock. And added that with the increasing theatrics in live shows, Tull was becoming more like a Circus. Hammond was not as great a bass player as Cornick but he made up for it in creativity. Check out the black and white striped bass and clothes Hammond used in playing live shows in 1974-1975. I see it as two different versions of the Jethro Tull series of bands. The first 3 albums with Glenn, there was a style which only showed up once in a while on later albums. "This Was" had some songs on it with Glenn and Clive Bunker really laying a great foundation. "My Sunday Feeling" is still one of my favorite Tull songs and the energy and excellent playing coming off the vinyl made a big impression on me in 1968. "Beggars Farm", "Song for Jeffery" other high points. As much as I love the albums "Aqualung" and "A Passion Play", I'll always miss Glenn's bass playing. Rest in peace, Glenn, you made your mark on the musical world.
Living in the Past bassline. Doesnt get any better.
When I was a kid, this music inspired me to take up cello and quickly afterwards bass. And, you know, all those kinetic photos in Living In The Past. My oldest brother bought it when it was released. I love Glen's playing. Thank you for the tribute
Tull isn't Tull without this fantastic bassist Glenn C.

Glenn Cornick played with sensitivity and authority. He was an outstanding bass player.
The Greatest Jethro Tull Lineup from 1968-1970
My two favorite Tull baselines... "Inside", and "Wond'ring Again". Glenn, you were a genius. What a melodic bass player!! Even though my favorite Tull is "Thick as a Brick" and "A Passion Play", I think that the most LISTENABLE and pleasant Tull is "Benefit", hands down. Come on, "For Michael Collins, Jeffrey, and Me"??? Genius.
Still very sad, loved his Bass playing and he will live on forever in that great music !!! you grow up with this great music in the late 60s to the 70s and slowly you start seeing them pass away !!! Live is so short !

There is an excellent 2 hour documentary on JT - Classic Jethro Tull, which features contributions from members and former members of the band. Glenn features quite a lot and comes over as a very articulate, likeable person. Other members of the band including Martin and Clive give their opinions as to why Glenn left the band but it was very much a joint decision. The only bad thing about it is the way it was done.
It's always so sad to lose a member of a great band that we all enjoyed listening to and seeing in concert. RIP Glenn Cornick.

Dominic La Rosa I know Jeffrey wasn't everyone's first choice as a Tull bass player, but the albums he played on were the best ones Tull ever recorded imo - it's not a coincidence.
There were a lot of great players in and out of this band, which says something. Go listen to Mr Cornick's bass solo on Bouree, it's insanely creative. He wasn;t merely the best bassist in a band of great bassists, he was IMNSHO, the best base player ever in any band I've heard or heard of, and I saw Jaco up close. I listen to "serious" music these days , "classical", traditional folk, jazz, just a wee bit of pop, and yet Glenn Cornick's basslines are a permanent part of my inner soundtrack. Amen.
Thank you for this wonderful video, God Rest his soul. I hope he has a wonderful time in the afterlife after all the joy he brought to everyone who ever listened to a tull song or saw him on stage. Love
