This is part 2 of my Bantayan Island Series.
Part 1 was a video featuring the Municipality of Santa Fe. Today, it will be the island's biggest municipality time to shine- the Municipality of Bantayan.
For our first stop, we will head to the town's amazing attraction with an amazing intention. This is OMAGIECA in barangay Oboob. A vast mangrove area managed and maintained by a local organization. This Eco-tourism park where you can roam around an elevated bamboo pathway is a mangrove preservation area with a twist. It has instagram worthy spots where visitors can take selfies and groufies. Inside this vast mangrove preservation is a seafood restaurant offering varieties of filipino food like one of its specialty "Imbao Tinola"(Mangrove Clam Stew). It is an ideal place to visit when your in the island. It raises environmental awareness about how important mangroves are in our ecosystem and how we benefit from maintaining a clean coastal waters and marine ecosystem. This channel highly recommends the place.
From brangay Oboob, we will head to the town's poblacion. Visiting one of the oldest church in the country- Saints Peter and Paul Church. In front of the church are attractions like the public market, sea port, plaza and town hall. In this video we will show you all these sites plus a good aerial view of bantayan's coastline with all its neighboring islets.
Since I am a big fan of seafood, I will be showing you what's inside their market seafood section. Asking about fish varieties available and its prices and all. And since the town is so famous for its abundance of fishes and all tyes of sea food, we can not simply ignore their dried fish section (buwad). Showing you their clean dried fish display area (I was surprise to learn that all their buwad does not smell bad or smell funky). I simply had a tour inside their buwad market. Hope you will try their dried fish. I guarantee, it is simply different, simply delicious.
