@@jamidesutv kenya is actually considered a multiracial country just like south africa because it was a settler colony. thats why the colonial footprint is still very strong. the indians in kenya have been there since 1800s when they were brough to build the railway, just like the ones in south africa, fiji, trinidad and tobago and guyana. colonial descendants are in kenya who found the climate very suitable for them as well as the european migrant class .Nairobi also hosts one of the 4 global UN centers called UNON on top of almost every big corporations out there. you think nairobi is cold? try kijabe area..lol . great analysis

As a native Kenyan, born and raised in Nairobi, I also want to point out that different parts of Kenya have different things to offer. Your findings about Kenya are 100% correct. Yes we don’t do soup and peppe but instead Kenyans cook fresh food everyday in their homes. I was a student in India where one Nigerian friend showed me how to make soup to avoid wasting time cooking fresh food everyday in order to have more time for study.

It’s poverty at times and perhaps the hot weather/ lack of fridge that Kenyans used to prepare food everyday. Your experience is just a reflection of your culture/ family life and not the entire population of Kenya. Of course Kenyans also cook soup and we have many Nigerians here in the U.K. and the only difference is the ingredients and the way they prepare their soup/ stew.
I lived in Kenya for 9 months and honestly I can relate to all of this. Especially the lack of soup 😂

I assume pepper is not the only spice? We love spices! I'm a Kenyan from the North, and we use different types of spices; ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black seeds, chilli, turmeric, etc. In as much as we love spices, we generally don't like overly hot foods. Hence, we've homemade chilli sauce infused with a tamarind we use to as 🌶.

Thanks Trish 🙂
Rent here is flexible, you can talk with the landlord, house agency for monthly rent, annually or 6months, Kenya is all about negotiation ...we call it "kujieleza" or "kujitetea" ,also u didn't mention how we pay for our electricity like most of the house holds use tokens which pay as you use just like scratch card, or internet bundles, ..kenya is very hostable country, Kenya host a lot of foreigners like from neighbouring countries,we have huge population of Somalia, ethopians, ugandans,Tanzania ,,Nigerian's, burundi , rwandees, Sudanese and they all leave in peace and harmony

We also use tokens in my country. Kenya is definitely a hospitable country. Thanks for your input ✌️

Welcome Karen 🤗🤗
Pete! Still, you can get the best peppers produced here in Kenya and mainly for export. You will find pepper all over the markets across the country.
