  • @hdiamond7365

    @hdiamond7365

    @@NurseDeo I am currently in Sydney but will be moving to Brisbane next year once we finish building. Tasmania is for people extremely looking for the paper. I will suggest Adelaide, Canberra, Wollongong or Newcastle if you have a work sponsorship and not permanent residence. If you get settled you can then move to bigger cities like Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast or Perth (these are expensive cities but also depends on where you live, but more Job opportunities) Brisbane is lot more affordable especially when you want to buy property or finally settle down with much lower cost of living. In the Suburbs in Sydney you can pay around $500 to 550 for 2 bedrooms even nice ones too for $450 grannyflats. In Brisbane you can get it $400 to $450 per week. Your partner can get care Jobs too. Averagely you can save a lot depending on your lifestyle. Normally you should be well adjusted in a year. Once you get your PR (that's a wrap) nursing jobs all over with options. I am a social worker and I still have job options. Any job in this fields are fire e.g Care Jobs, Health, IT, Engineering, Accounting, Social Work etc.

    The offer could be better. Please note that private hospitals have lower pay than government hospitals in Australia. Public hospitals have very large nursing unions that secure nursing wage agreements, what we call the nursing award and there is a difference between the two sectors. Private hospitals also do not have legislated nursing ratios, this is an employment condition in the public sector in some states like Queensland and Victoria. In New South Wales nurses are striking to gain legislated ratios at the moment (Google it). With your age and level of experience seek an employer that is offering a 186 Visa upfront and I would say migrate with a Government hospital employer over an agency everyday. Don’t settle for the 482 visa. Because you would get Australian permanent residency upfront and have much more freedom. It’s also not a waiting game for the visa with a government hospital as migration has both federal and state/regional quotas and nursing is both lost at each level of government. So it’s the same waiting period as it’s manage by the Department of Home Affairs similar to the UK. At the moment all nurses migration is prioritised. Government hospitals are run by the state and they are a better employment sponsor as you can work at any hospital in that state. The best Australian hospitals are public by far. Private hospitals dominate in offering surgical options to subset of the population. Look for a tertiary hospital within more services and clinical specialities and you’ll get much better opportunities for your career. Anaesthesic nursing is also quite competitive so if you can get experience in the UK first that would be to your advantage. Surgical nursing, peri operative, critical care experience is required because you’ll be competing with critical care nurses with Masters qualifications for anaesthetic roles in Australia.

    I’ve heard good things about Tasmania and UTAS (University) has great Masters courses in Nursing. Their biggest hospital is Hobart, the capital of the state and its their main tertiary centre. I think Royal Hobart is also a trauma centre, they have teaching and research. The pay is slightly lower than Victoria and Queensland but if you do shift work, the penalty rates (% loading onto off hourly rates paid to incentivise work at unsocial hours - afternoon, nights, weekends, doubles) add up and there won’t be much difference.

    Nurse Deo I think you should consider your Cardiac RN role if you do not get an anesthetic role eventually. I mean the salary is good, nurse to patient ratio is good, plus they stated they'd help you transfer to anesthetic nursing after working for a while. I think it's a great deal darling, grab it👌🎉! Conversely, I suggest that if it is possible, let them state it in the contract that they will give you an anesthetic role after working for a clearly stated duration(6 months, 1 year,etc) before you append that signature on the contract. Congratulations and please do not overthink this. This is somebody's prayer point my dear 🔥😂💞.
