Its funny but majory of stuff is the same as mine. With the exeption of annealer and lyman case trimmer (its a best bang for the buck) :)

Gotta like how well lit the room is! The Rockchucker can be fitted with press conversion bushing to use LNL Bushings if so desired. The Redding Premium Die set come with a carbide expander ball installed from the factory, this should help with neck concentricity. Another bench mounted priming tool is the Forster Co-Ax that had a nice touch to seating primers. The take away from this is that it is not the fancy schmancy reloading tools that make accurate reloads, but the fellow paying attention and minimizing variables. One thing is that so many people get "jealous" of people who have been reloading for years perhaps decades and through time and trial and error have accumulated a boat load of stuff!

Awesome and thanks for sharing. As lower middle class mechanic who reloads way to may calibers I appreciate the perspective and hopefully stuff like this motivates people to try instead of thinking they can never afford to do this.

I label “needs everything”, “needs trimming”, “ready to load”.

Really nice reloading room, well setup and organized. The Hornady LNL progress works great. I use it for my F-Class TR rounds. I just break up the 3 steps; set up the press with one die for decap, then three dies for resizing (Body and bump, Neck size, Expand), then two dies for seating (Bullet seat, check). For pistol (45 ACP) I do every step in one cycle.

Nice work area. I have many of the same brass prep tools and good to hear that they seem like solid purchases.

Thanks John. I like seeing reloading rooms with "underdog" tools that still get the job done. Top of the line stuff is nice but I think more people will get into the hobby if they realize they can get in relatively cheap. And we need more people in the hobby.

Thanks for the interviews. Nice set up Josh. Yes the microphone was little wonky.

I love my lock and load bushings. What I have had problems with is not consistency but durability. The machined male fittings are bombproof, but the MIM female bushing seems to be failure prone. I am on my second. You might consider seeing if lee makes a breech lock conversion face bushing since you already have some infrastructure. I have to say having the die set up already staged saves me SO much time. I only have to confirm measurements if for example I use a different brand of brass, but usually it's spot on. With the bushings it is extremely quick to change tasks to the point where I sometimes load up only a handful of rounds at a time and pop back on the hill to test them. With micrometer style seating dies and a few reference dummies, things progress really quickly. "This bullet, +.020 for this rifle, so back off .025 and tweak" and your OAL is set up in about a minute. As someone, like Josh, who loads a bunch of different stuff- the bushings are GREAT. It really helps productivity for someone like me who is already short on time to load and shoot. FYI: if you DO go the bushing route, cabelas has the best deal on bushing sets. I think its 6 or 8 male and 1 female for 20 bucks. Enough that I have several backup female bushings and enough male that I got my primary calibers squared away. Tertiary thought- if anyone knows where to find a nicely machined hornady style conversion bushing, i'd love to give that company some of my money.

Buy the Hornady quick change bushings for the Rock Chucker, they work great.

You reload to have what you can not buy.

Don - I agree, it’s always interesting even for an established reloader to hear what others do. For someone thinking of starting reloading it’s a great help to see ‘real world’ reloading set-ups & hear their experiences (good or bad) relating to equipment, set-up & processes.

Enjoyed the video. Simple yet seems to work for the time being. 600 isn’t 1000, and I believe that at this time with a non- custom high end rifle, that going to the n’th degree would not make a big difference. Later on if he goes big bucks, I would expect some changes incremental to expectations in accuracy. Great stuff

Very nice. Similar to how I do things. I use my magneto sporter with a suppressor but on sensitivity setting 2 and works well.

My issue is the diameter of my suppressor is too large for the magneto to pick it up. I also worried about melting it off...

WFT worlds finest trimmer,,,, trimming problems solved.....

I've noticed with sizing and expanding at same time, some cartridges are tougher to expand than others: 7RM is easy, 270 win is always difficult on the expanding unless I use the Lee sizing die which has a long mandrel style expander, and it's a bit smoother and less effort. Others are medium effort to expand, 257bob, 30-06, 7mm08, 257wby, even the 30 Nosler.

I must have a addiction. I even pick up 300WM brass. I use a Lee Classic turret press. It is a hybrid between a turret and progressive. I only use it for pistol reloading. I can load five hundred rounds in a hour. It is way easier to change calipers then a Dillion. And I don’t shoot enough to justify one. I also use a Harley decapping tool. It is easy on the hand and fast. Dirty brass doesn’t come anywhere near my dies or press. For rifle I use a single stage press. The priming system that is on it and my turret press are the same. It is fast and easy to use. I have owned a lot of different reloading tool and presses. I buy from estate sales. Tried everything. Sold what I didn’t like on EBay. And Gunbroker.

Good to see some more basic setups. You don’t have to spend thousands to benefit from reloading. But, one can dream of Dillon 750’s too.

I’m working on getting it over on Patreon. I do them several times a year at my club and it a paid class, so it will be a bargain once I get them up on Patreon this winter.

Love my APP .. I do swage rifle with it as well. One thing also to talk about is tuning your ammo to your firearm. I just built a 9mm PCC and I have loaded so many combinations that run amazing in that gun that you could not buy. One of the many reasons I reload as well.

@@FClassJohn Its way too much fun for an $80.00 press and does it save a ton of time on brass prep.. I also have the stand alone primer version holy cow can you prime some brass with it..

RCBS has another case trimmer with a spring loaded case holder that works much better because the case is always in the same position. With the case trimmer Josh has the case can end up at different lengths.

John what do you do with your old barrels?

Hey John, I’ve never seen you do flash hole deburring. I’ve gone back an watched Tubb’s video and he pretty much minimizes this step for quality brass. His state-of-the-art equipment for this series is interesting...

That’s what it’s all about.

I love this series!!! One suggestion though is to watch the audio. This video in particular is kind of wonky for the audio. Content 100%. Execution 90%.

I appreciate that. I’m actually getting a longer mic so it does a better job of all the audio and good levels. I’m sorry about the highs and lows on this one.

I can totally see that. Are you using that case feeder even with .223 with good success?

@@FClassJohn Yes, it works pretty well for .223/.300 Blackout. Not as well as it does for pistol calibers as you can't shake the top and count on the cases dropping. I think there are couple hacks for that but I haven't tried. Fill the tubes with 80-90 cases and keep pulling the handle. Rinse and repeat. :)

Just a bit of constructive criticism: your audio is waaaaay louder than the interviewee, and it made selecting a volume difficult.

Yes and I’m really sorry about that. Because of the room we were in in the way I was recording my microphone was in a bad position so it captured my voice a lot better than his and I did my best to compensate in post editing but it didn’t work great. Hopefully I will have a better solution for the next interview.
