Welcome back. In this series we are working on a new 9mm load with 147g bullets and Titegroup powder to produce a good competition load for USPSA matches. I research a starting load and talk about other considerations. Next video we will move onto the press and produce our first rounds. Lots of other videos I am working on, over 15 in various states of production, so stay tuned.

Small Titegroup loads are very easy (perhaps TOO EASY?) to drop in multiples on a progressive... Even in the 9mm cases. That OAL @ 1.115" is very short for a 147gr bullet, even one with a flat nose like the TMJ.

Personally myself I have typically loaded longer OAL but started with the recipe out of the book and figure I can tune from there. I agree strongly, Titegroup can easily be double charged, so one must be careful. Typically what I do with a progressive is I only load 50 or 100 at a time and then go do something else so my attention doesn't wander.

We need about 890 fps for Minor PF loads of 130 (890 fps) ; based on Hodgdon's reloading data, I'd do a group of 5-10 rounds each at 3.4 and 3.5 gr , seeing which is consistently near/at 130 pf (890 fps). (I dislike max loads even if listed in manuals/websites!)
