Reloading 410 Shells Part 1: Lets Talk Hulls
This is the start of a series of videos covering 410 reloading. In this video we cover hulls. I go over a variety of hulls. I explain which i like and which I don't and why. I also show some examples of worn out hulls that have been shot and reloaded several times.

Nice video. Any experience with Fiocchi shells as primed (no hazmat fee) run about 16 cents each new.
Herter is a very old name. Used to have loading equipment, some cartridges and some revolvers.
Where do you get the load data for the herter's?
You can adjust the depriming punch on the MEC to knock the spend cases out
Is the Herter primer pocket the same size as the American made hulls?
Sounds like you have greater than average knowledge of how much fun/aggravation loading the .410 actually is! At this time 02/17/2021 my favorite hull is anything in can get my hands on. Usually it the HS hull and then the Remingtons in both 2 1/2” and 3”. Loading 1/2, 5/8, 11/16, and 3/4ozs of shot. Have 3 loaders (600 JR) set up for different favorites. Favorite powders are H-110 and 300-MP. Wish I could have met you when I was working in Noblesville for 4 years. Not very many .410 shooters at the Indiana trap and skeet club. You ever tried your .410’s on bunker? My best score has been a 7 with only one second barrel hit.
I'm using Aliant 410 powder and my AA hulls only reload 5 times and they're done... Think the Herter's may be the answer! As well perhaps a cooler burning powder. I shoot a Remington 410 Sporting (1100) and so need to have enough umph to cycle the action properly. Your comments are welcome.
What loading data do you use? Have you loaded any TSS shot?
Differences in the shells, I have split some hulls down the side and looked at base wads. They all look the same to me am I correct on the assumption. So, with that being said why does manual list hulls separately in load data manuals?
What makes a 410 round a magnum. Would it be size as in 3" or velocity. I've seen 3" bismuth at 1100 fps. Also 3" lead free steel at 1400 fps
The hull trimmer I think was a Lyman product
Where can I get 2000 hulls 3”?
Love your videos on 410. But watch how you use your words sometime there maybe some younger watchers.
Are you going to show how to reload a 3 inch ? I’ve got me a Mossberg 500 .410 and I’m thinking about reloading

I can't find a reloader than can handle 3 inch 410. Pretty sure none of the MECs can do 3 inch. Anyone know of a reloader that can do it?

@Travis Thackergreat news, thanks. MEC 9000 it is then.
If you cant get win aa 3" hulls, whats the next best options? Looking to load steel or tss for waterfowl. Win aa are unobtainable at this point and likely for a while so looking for other options.

No I have never loaded metallic hulls for 410.
I’ll take whatever hulls you don’t want!
Just getting into 410 loading. Is there such a thing as tapered and straight walled 410 hulls?

They are all straight walled.
In Russia they have been doing it independently for a long time 410 caliber cartridge
Do you like Federal Hulls?
