This song is part of the reason I am here today. I was sitting in my car in the parking lot as a junior in high school, and long story short I felt the urge to just drive max speed into a tree and end it. But I prayed first, "God, I'm gonna put my iPod on shuffle, and I doubt there's any song in here that could change my mind... but if there is, it better be the first one cause I'm gonna start driving if it's not." And it was this song. I almost skipped it and laughed cause I hadn't really listened to the lyrics before and thought it was just a dumb Christian rock song. But I felt urged to listen... and it spoke everything I was feeling, everything I needed to hear, and everything I needed to say. "God all this time, I needed you." I thought I had God. But in reality it was just an identity thing, like an "I'm a Christian" sticker to wear when it mattered to someone. But inwardly I was a creep, a cheat, a lazy loser who coasted on other people's effort and soaked up undue praise and had deluded myself into thinking everything bad in my life was someone else's fault. And whenever I was faced with the fact that something was my fault, I hated myself and trashed myself and thought I might as well die because, as the singer says, "I don't wanna deal with that." This song... It said everything that needed said. I've had the pleasure of sharing this song with my own teenage daughter, at a time when she felt what appeared to me to be the same way I was feeling. I hope it helped her. It's still helping me. God bless you all. Know that facing up to our consequences is worth it. It won't kill you, and you'll come out less damaged than you ever thought you'd be, having discovered the fact that criticism and self-criticism won't kill you, and that life is both hard and worth living. God knows you and loves you. So know Him and love Him, and you will know and love yourself without fear.

This band is not only the best Christian band of all time, but also belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are almost unparalleled and are legit one of the best bands of all time.

I know you commented this 2 years ago, but I literally just had this exact thought. Reliant K was my favorite band when I was in middle school. I knew they were Christian back then, but always applied their lyrics to worldly things... Now, at 30, their music hits so much differently. In the best way possible. So glad God showed me them back then, even if I didn't quite understand. It allowed me to come back to them, today, for the first time since probably 2007. Rest assured that I'll be adding all of their music to my playlist. 😌🙏

OK, great! Let's just remember to study the Bible very well daily........So God has shown me that "punk" refers to a bad kind of person so we need to use terms that please God. Now, not all of us including myself will not immediately understand God about various things like this one. To that he lovingly understands us and works to make us holier. Praise you God!!!! What do you all see the wisdom I shared?

God all this time I needed you I needed you... My favorite parts. No song continously can make me tear up except for this song. I feel so happy and so broken. So overjoyed and useless. The fact I sin a million times a day and I'm still loved. It's a crazy idea to think of and the fact that it's real continues to baffle me the same way it did when I learned of it.

And I'm good, good, good to go And I'm good, good, good to go I got to get away Get away from all of my mistakes And I'm good, good, good to go And I'm good, good, good to go I got to get away Get away from all of my mistakes So here I sit looking at the traffic lights The red extinguishes the hope the green ignites I want to run away I want to ditch my life 'Cause all of my mistakes keep me awake at night And after all of my alibis desert me I just want to get by I don't want nothing to hurt me I had no idea where my head was at But if my heart says I'm sorry can we leave it at that Because I just want for all of this to end And I so hate consequences And running from you is what is my best defense is Consequences Oh God, don't make me face up to this And I so hate consequences And running from you is what my best defense is 'Cause I know that I let you down (I know that I let you down) And I don't want to deal with that And I'm good, good, good to go And I'm good, good, good to go I got to get away Get away from all of my mistakes It just now hit me this is more then just a set back And when you spelled it out, well, I guess I didn't get that And every trace of momentum is gone And this isn't turning out the way I want And after all of my alibis desert me I just want to get by I don't want nothing to hurt me I had no idea where my head was at But if my heart says I'm sorry can we leave it at that Because I just want for all of this to end And I so hate consequences And running from you is what is my best defense is Consequences Oh God, don't make me face up to this And I so hate consequences And running from you is what my best defense is 'Cause I know that I let you down (I know that I let you down) And I don't want to deal with that And I spent all last night Tearing down Every stoplight And stop sign in this town Now I think there might Be no way to stop me now I'll get away despite The fact I'm so weighed down All of my escapes have been exhausted I thought I had a way but then I lost it And my resistance was once much stronger And I know I can't go on like this much longer When I got tired of running from you I stopped right there to catch my breath There your words they caught my ears You said 'I miss you son. Come home' And my sins, they watched me leave And in my heart I so believed The love you felt for me was mine The love I'd wished for all the this time And when the doors were closed I heard no I told you so's I said the words I knew you knew Oh God, oh God I needed you God all this time I needed you, I needed you Traduire en français
