I mean, the elephant in the room is obviously "Do they explode and spit out black goo into your aquarium, like the Cobalt Aquatics thin model heaters that they look like they are based on did?"

We've been using several of these around the office for the past year, and they've been working great. We do remember those old horror stories though! If anybody else has an experience with these heaters, add a comment and let us know how they work for you! I know Matthew's been using the 150W for a year now and he loves it!

Fantastic heaters. Using the 100W in my IM 20G peninsula and Fluval 13.5 because of the compact size. You completely left out any mention of Aquael's Smart Heating System in the Ultra lineup. These heaters adjust their output to match heat loss in the tank in 10% increments. They are not simply on or off.

I purchased the 75-watt version February 10th and I'm already having problems with it. I turned off my power bar to do some maintenance and later on in the afternoon the heater said 78 f but yet the water seemed cooler. I verified it with two different thermometers and now the heater is only running at 76 f even though the light is solid at 78 f. Now I have it set at 80 and now the water temperature is 78.1 f I already started a warranty claim and hopefully it isn't going to take forever emailing back and forth to get a replacement. It worked perfectly out-of-the-box maintaining the temperature up until two days ago.. I haven't even been able to find out if there is a reset on the heater or recalibration mode.

Does it have to be fully submerged? I kept my the temp dial part with LED above water.

Hey...... I am using Aquael 100watt heater. Whenever I switch off the heater or the power supply goes off, the set temperature increases as soon as the power comes back?? Is it normal or it's faulty????

I've seen some reviews of this heater where users have found there's a few degrees temperature variability in the water in the tank at different times of the day. Did you manage t to test this out at all?

Good question, and in our experience, a few degrees is pretty normal for most heaters unless you pair it with a temperature controller. Inkbird and Bayite make some great controllers that can dial in the temperature range to whatever you need!

@@BulkReefSupply that’s interesting. I’ve never experienced that sort of fluctuation with my current heater and I have some species that would not tolerate that well

Cobalt stuff is getting increasingly rare to find. BRS does not even carry them despite recommending them in the past. Is this an actual rebrand? Or are they just similar? Genuinely curious.

Had 2 of these fail (thankfully in OFF position) on me whilst a cheap chinese which I bought used many years ago is still running strong. Plus the suction pads do not work- too stiff rubber and too small of a diameter. On the positive note: they are pretty to look at, that's it.

I wish there was a haha 😄 instead of a like. Why would you take ac power supplied from your power grid and convert it to dc with a power brick only to keep all of that heat loss from the power conversion out of the water which you are trying to heat? And no, it's not "safer".
