No, not atrophy. All music activates the brain. However, it will simplify your brain signals, making you think "stupider" for the time you listen to it. If your intention is memorizing, that shouldn't matter. Critical or creative thinking, however? You're better off with Mozart.

The only studies I've seen have said that your overall concentration diminishes with lyrics due to brain activity in the frontal cortex.
