The music takes me home to Michigan where my childhood winters could not have been more memorable. I live in Texas now and although it does snow every once in a millennia, it isn’t like a Michigan winter where the snow is so deep, half the house is buried in it. We lived one block from Lake Sinclair and we would go ice skating, ice fishing and ride our bikes on the lake. We would ride our sleds right down the middle of the neighborhood street because not too many neighbors were willing to travel down the burdensome roads with their cars so there was no worries about getting run over. Not to mention how wonderfully beautiful Christmas lights looked against the white snow, it was magnificent. I remember one year a boyfriend of my sister left a gigantic box wrapped in a huge red bow out in front of the picture window on the lawn, when we drew back the curtains and saw that box, we were mesmerized that Santa had truly come. I was about 12 and my sister was 14 at the time. I had no idea she was in an adult relationship with a guy who had a car. Inside the box was the biggest teddy bear my eyes have ever seen. My parents were completely magical at Christmas time. Since we didn’t have a fireplace of our own, my father built a faux one complete with red and white bricks with silver glitter as the mortar. He would put it against the wall and hang our stockings from it, all eight of them. The living room would be completely engulfed in gifts where you could barely walk through the room without stepping on them. Mom would come out of her bedroom with a head full of curlers and big robe on hoping to get some coffee on before the unveiling began. I had three sisters and two brothers, the house was full of love and life and could not have been a better upbringing for us kids.

My nephew just lost his dad (my brother) and his mom when he was younger. Now he’s 17 and I can feel him feeling depressed. Trying my best to help him but he’s been shut down at times. Any advice to help him?

When I was a child, growing up in New England near the Berkshire Mountain range, it was always a white Christmas. It doesn’t seem to snow the way it snowed back then. It was a true winter wonder land. Sometimes I go back to those innocent days in my memory. It was quite a long time ago. I still remember the love of Christmas time. My aging mother is far from me. I still have my husband and mother in law with me. We celebrate Christmas in the catholic tradition.Im not catholic but my husband’s mother is.Christmas is our high holiday. Yule was the Anglo Saxon, Celtic and North European tradition. We adopted some of those traditions in our modern day celebration of Christ’s birth in America, and parts of Europe. Peace on Earth and goodwill towards men.

Why is it impossible? If you cannot have your family make your own . Of friends . I have a family technically, but i miss the commeradery and security I got from friend families, that I feel is a different support all together...friends can be better family than family for alot of people!!!

작년 이 때쯤에 이 노래를 들으며 잤었는데.. 작년이때는 정말 말할 것도 없이 죽고 싶을 만큼 힘들었었는데 시간이 정말 약인지 지금은 나쁘지 않다. 전보다 걱정 없이 잠에 들 수 있게 되었고, 행복한 일도 많다. 좋아하는 사람이 생길 정도로 마음에 여유가 생겼고 바로 앞의 상황만 보고 보지 못했던 먼 미래도 볼 수 있게 됐다. 앞으로도 계속 행복했으면 좋겠다.

I’m lying here listening to this…..this is beautiful……it’s december in 2 days time and where I live in the Uk lots of people have already got they’re Xmas trees up…..I haven’t, I don’t know just yet if I will put mine up this year, my mum is terminally ill and as yet we don’t know if she will make it to Christmas or if this will be her final Christmas…this music is so soothing and calming. It is taking me back to my christmases as a child. Us 3 girls (2 sisters) always had a wonderful time at Christmas. In 1984 my best friend passed away on Christmas Eve, she was only 14. Christmas time was a sad time for me until 1994 when I gave birth to my beautiful son thus making Christmas worthwhile again……. Make sure you cherish the special memories because one day that’s all you’ll have left…I wish the person reading this a very merry Christmas and a happy new year…I also wish you good health and much happiness for the years ahead……..

My 90 yr old mother just tested positive for COVID today...in a rehab facility that was supposedly on lock down. I needed calming, serene, hopeful music to try and chill my fears...and my anger. May everyone stay safe and love your friends and family. God bless.

This is so kind of you. I am recovering from some health problems so have trouble sleeping at times and look for anything comforting. I love Christmas music all year long. Your kindness comes through in the music. God bless you for doing such a lovely thing. I feel like the Heavenly Father guided me to your music to console me. Bless you!!! For being such a real channel of his grace and lovingkindness. I am an older lady by myself (except for of course God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I feel like what you are doing is more important than hospital care and all of that. It is real inner emotional as well as physical healing. Its like you are kind of a nurse of musical healing. Just wonderful beyond what I can say in words.

Something that I have realized, is that Christmas holds a value in my heart like nothing else. It is the only thing left I have of my pure childhood that I can hold onto and remember. I closed the window, pulled the curtain down, turned on the cold air conditioner, and opened this video. The rain made me remember my childhood days, when it rained all day, my sister and I were in our old house, studying or playing, waiting for my parents to return after a day of work; then we had dinner together, watched TV, and then went to sleep. There was no internet, no facebook, no smartphone ... just the sound of rain like that, with trees, with insects, slightly chilly weather and feeling of peace.

When we get rid of Black Friday, then maybe Xmas and Thanksgiving will feel like themselves again. But it's kinda hard to have a Family Gathering holiday when half the family has to work the next morning because of all the Christmas sales their bosses demand they show up for work for interupt what used to be a.....HOLIDAY. Black Friday needs to end. Using every holiday or social festivity as an excuse to push more Merch needs to end.

나는 항상 왜 이렇게 크리스마스 감성이 아련하지.. 따뜻한데 외로운 촛불하나가 떠오른달까, 어릴때 형편상 할머니 손에 자라서 시골마을에 작은 교회를 제 집 드나들듯 놀러다녔는데 덕분에 크리스마스에 우리 동네 곳곳을 아이들과 목사님과 함께 돌며 캐롤과 찬송가를 불렀던 기억이 있다..무슨 놀이처럼,, 많이 추웠지만 작은 일탈같아서 즐거웠던 기억 그리고 성인이 되었을때 고려대학교 파파이스에서 알바를 마치고 집으로 돌아가던길에 첫눈을 맞으면서 미아삼거리 백화점 앞 크리스마스 트리장식을 한동안 쳐다봤던 기억..이 두가지 크리스마스 기억이 내 머릿속에 유난히 남아있다. 이 음악을 들으니 크리스마스 날 밤 눈이 올 때 세상이 고요했던 그 느낌이 다시 떠오르네요..

I recently lost my Mom to Covid19. This will be my first xmas without her. I'm absolutely heartbroken. We loved xmas and would decorate, go shopping and get the rest of the family in the xmas spirit. I will miss her eternally. This soft music, is appropriate for me as I mourn her loss but keep her spirit alive with her love for Xmastime.

Deepest sympathy from someone in Ohio. Read your post and I feel so sorry for your family. Do some of the same things as the love of your mom will be there with you.

Super Excited to Turn the August into September. Because, here in our country which is the Philippines, when the date start to September it feels like its already Christmas. We kinda celebrate Christmas for about a Hundred days. But this time of Pandemic, The way we celebrate the Christmas before will never be the same as what we used to. Just beautiful. It does make me sad though cause it reminds me of when the holidays used to be joyful and happy and something to look forward to. Lately it's mostly sadness and stress. I am so loving this right now, it's timeless, beautiful and wonderful Plus it's well put together. Also it's peaceful and calm seeing this too. When I look at something this amazing like this, it helps me keep my mind off the bud stuff that's going on in this world today and keeping me calm.
