Could you get by with a Digital multi meter /clamp meter? Maybe by reading min and max you could tell if one is off average. Trying to get a compression test done on used cars in the field. (Buying from owners on craigslist)
Do not need use attenuator for the scope ?

No attenuation because it's only the trigger signal . If you are measuring the primary or secondary then it depends on the rating of your scope .

Snap on has a built in attenuator either way
Does not necessary show a good 4 cyl engine , just shows even compression , it is possible all cylinders are low.

If you look at the peak to peak current you can determine if all of the cylinders are equally low.
