Sorry about the pulsing sound on this video, I'm not sure what happened

I always learn so much from your videos. I have been commissioned to do a simple honeycomb panel with a 2" border around the edges. Size is about 66" wide by 18" tall. It will be installed in a transom so I plan on using 5/16" lead around the edges instead of zinc just in case it needs to be trimmed for installation. Do I only need a piece of restrip running along the 66" width? Or do I also need to run some restrips along the 18"? Thanks for all you do!

You'll want some restrip that run up and down for strength.

What is the proper spacing for restrip? A foot between restrip? If they are too far apart, it seems they might not work as well? Thank you so much 😊

On one panel I ran two pieces right next to each other to gain more strength. But generally a foot apart works well.

Do you always put restrip in from the left to the right or do you also put it in from the top to the bottom?

We run it in both directions when needed. If it's a thin panel then it doesn't need extra reinforcement in both directions. But when the piece is wide and tall we try to get as much strength added by going up and down and side to side

So the ReStrip is only half the thickness of the glass? How else do you get the intersection of two of them like an X?

In one direction the restrip runs along the foiled edge, in the other drection, you bend the restrip like a "L" shape and hook it to the dge and run it perpendicular to the other restrip, do this is both directions.

Might it be easier to install the restrip while assembling the foiled pieces instead of after the whole window is laid down?
