It was not a rehearsal :) David just asked him to try singing all by myself and show the arrangement :) that is why during the performance Stell was always looking at David for his directions and cues because there was no rehearsals that happened. Stell was finding his way through the song the whole time. Even if this is the case, Stell was always ready for the challenge and all his trainings is paying off.

​@@desertfox5361Stell knows the song but it's not in his repertoire for that night. He thought he's gonna rehearsed his three songs when asked on stage during rehearsals. He thought that Mr. David will be rehearsing before him but DF called him and ask if he has his in-ears then asked to try singing ABM. So in the video, DF was just guiding Stell for the arrangement that's why Stell wasn't singing it fully, and according to Stell, that's it, just a one-time run, then he was asked if he wants to sing it that night, so Stell said he can't say no of course and just accepted the challenge. So in a way, it's not really a rehearsed one. But again, Stell became a regular guest because of that, not just a Front act.

That "WOW" by Mr.David Foster validates his amazement on Stell's rendition of the song! 😍🤩😲

To that someone who said that stell was out of tune at the last part. No, he wasn't out of tune. Some people think they're good in music when in fact they just have amateur knowledge when it comes to music, you are one example. Many can sing, but a few can play with notes. What stell did was playing with the notes of the song. Simple example is, if you know the nursery rhyme song do re mi 'doe a deer a female deer' if that rings a bell. There are lines in that song that sings the notes, in that song the melody might be singing the key of C, but someone can sing with you and sing the mi instead of do or E instead of C. The best musicians for me are those who have good ears to change the melody and use the second voice notes to alter the melody of the song but still being in tune. If you think stell was out of tune then you are one of those people that can only carry a tune but doesn't have good ears when listening to music. What stell did was raise the original tune two notes higher. If you look at David's reaction at that part his eyes widened, cause he didn't anticipate that stell could still reach two notes higher than what Celine Dion sang. You can see in his expression that he appreciated what stell did.

@@Neneng63 yes, those who can sing well but when you ask them to sing duets or harmonies they are lost. The best musicians and artists are those who are good in singing harmonies. Many are just karaoke versions because they listen to songs many times and able to sing just how it was sung originally. But few can really alter the songs they're singing but still being tune. Those are the best ones for me, and the real artists.

at the rehearsal he was out of tune because he was still learning it but in the live show he was on tune but not confident enough to belt it. With that performance, Sir David would probably invite him again.

This was during soundcheck. Soundchecks are usually done around 1-2 hours before the concert. This is not a rehearsal as rehearsals are usually done days before the concert. Remember that Stell wasn't even part of the line up. He was supposed to be the opener and when he was doing the soundcheck for the three opening songs he was going to perform, David was there and asked him to sing All By Myself which is what is seen in this video. Stell himself said he was shocked when David suddenly asked him if he wants to perform in the main event as Stell initially thought that David just wanted him to try the song, All By Myself. Well, for anyone who has not seen Stell sing live, I highly recommend for you to see him. He is a countenor and his voice will really take you to the heavens. Also, watch him sing and dance. Kahit gaano ka-intense ang choreography, grabeng taas parin ng high notes niya and ang mas nakakabilib ay hindi siya hinihingal. Sobrang stable niya live.

Ang practice or rehearse could be repeatedly or regularly done for days, for weeks or for months to improve at parang actual performance na ang execution. Yung video po sa left ay soundcheck po ni Stell sa 3 nyang kanta, as front act lang, an hour before the show. Bigla lang po na nagpiano si DF at tinawag c Stell. Nalaman lang ni Stell na ABM ung tinutugtog ni DF. Kaya hinahum nya lang at may konting soft birit lang. Pina grasp lang po ni sir David yung arrangement nung kanta at may itinuturo kung san sya papasok, para alam ni Stell kung anong key, san papasok, san hihinto, hanggang saan ang haba , etc. And that's it ! One short dry run lang. Wala na pong proper rehearsal. Though nakanta na po ni Stell ito nung 2021 sa BITZ online concert ng SB19, iba po kc ung arrangement non. Year 2024 na po ngayon. Kaya tinanong ni David Foster c Stell kung gusto nyang kantahin yung ABM, if you allow it, ang sagot ni Stell. Kaya tinawag sya at pinakanta ang ABM as one of the main acts sa show. Kaya po impromptu. Sabi nga po ni sir David Foster sa kanya na " You only get ONE CHANCE TO TRY." Unlike po kay Celine Dion na naka ilang tries. Hindi po kasama sa napractice ni Stell. 3 lang po ung songs na prinactice nya ahead of time for several days maybe, before the show. Kung napractice po yun, smoothly sang sana at kita sa video, very visible ung malaking kaba ni Stell at medyo may konting hangin or fry ung boses nya before yung first long, high note. Kita nyo rin sa video na nag mamumble sya ng lyrics at nagprepray daw sya jan before the long, high na birit. At tumitingin sya kay Sir David for guidance kaya may coaching c David Foster paminsan minsan sa kanya habang kumakanta c Stell sa actual show ! At David Foster Show po yan! I think it was a build up to the belt part. It was a vulnerable part of the song since the next line would be a lashing out that he don't wanna live by himself. It's like narrating a story. From weakness to strength that's why he put some voice crack.

he was not out of tune, the higher note was his own version which is higher than what david is doing with the piano but def not out of tune, also it is not a rehearsal, david only asked Stell on the spot to sing this song and showed him the arrangement just ONCE before he actually performs it, he was told to just sing it as he normally does since they have no time to adjust the arrangement or his way of singing so he did his own version which is higher (G5 then E5) than the original key (E5) but def not out of tune.

Are you kidding me? He was not out of tune, are you good in music to know what is out-of-tune and not. Oh I can see, you're one of those who based the correct melody of the song on what he hears from the original tune only that's why when a singer makes some modifications, she concludes that the singer's not hitting the right tune or melody, what the fudge🙄😁. Didn't you know that great singers know how to play with melodies/tunes of the songs? It's not coaching per se... It's briefing. Of course, the keys and arrangement are needed to be known by the singer bago sumalang. Alangan naman kumanta siya hindi swak boses nya sa arrangement diba?

This shows that,him, performing the song isn't a total impromptu since he knew that he will perform it. Without proper practice lang since sa mismong event na niya nalaman na kakantahin niya yan,few hrs before the concert starts. Yung iba kasi pinagpipilitan na impromptu daw.

Watch mo ung isang version ni Stell ng all by myself live kc un hindi impromptu, not in front of A DAVID FOSTER, not in front of huge live audience, and well-rehearsed. Sort of but not really. This is a new arrangement so David made Stell listen to it first and sing if he can do it, an hour before the show begins. Stell didn’t have the time to practice this new arrangement so it’s impronto.

No shiz, Sherlock. Congrats po at matagal ka na sa music industry. But why are your wordings like that? Hindi po yan LIE. It was indeed impromptu. Hindi yan rehearsal. Iba nirehearse ni Stell dyan tapos tinanong lang sya agad ni Sir David if kaya nya kantahin ang All By Myself. They had a try, then BOOM! Pinagperform sya agad sa actual show. Hindi ka pinaandran ng kenemeng eksena. No one's forcing you to believe either. Why do you sound like someone hurt you? Lol.

@@NilaganiPablo Naniniwala ako sa talento ng bata. Ang ayaw ko lang is gagawa-gawa ng gimmick ang mga nakapaligid sa kanya para mas lalong mapa hanga ang tao na hindi naman totoo. Any aspiring artist wouldn't be stupid enough to risk his blossoming career in front of large crowd in Araneta, not to mention with the world renowned, David Foster, by doing an impromptu performance. Malaking damage sa karera nya kung sumablay, ok lang kung videoke sa tabi-tabi. Buti pumasa sa akin ang performance nya, pero 80% lang ang grado nya.

​​@@thegreenwarriors3014 Concert producer mismo ni Sir David nagsabi that David Foster himself tends to change the line-up on the day of his concert. So ano, they did that gimmick para lang talaga kay Stell? Also, David Foster saw Stell singing ABM on TikTok years ago. So he knew Stell could pull it off. Accept the fact that a phenomenon can happen beyond your life experience and can still possibly be true. Hindi po lahat naaayon lang sa experience mo. Years of experience should make you wiser and encourage younger talents to carry on. Hindi yung kayo pa nanghihila kesyo gimmick lang. With your downplaying words, you must be fun at parties- raining on someone's parade and spoiling the moment.
