Regulars Rides - Kristen's Honda CD200 Benly Custom
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This weeks video is brought to you by Arizonian Kristen talking us through her dinky Honda CD200.
She first clapped eyes on this Honda CD200 Benly custom 2 years ago, a true case of love at first sight and it's been growing ever since. Being a small lady herself, the bike fitted her perfectly and over the years she's taken it on many a trip often further than many thought it was capable of, but the reliability and reputation of Honda's engines remained intact yet again with no problems.
Watch the video, learn more about Kristen's head-turner of a bike.

I like that she's going to pass on the bike to her daughter. My dad gave me his 95 Royal Enfield when i started college and it's the best gift I've ever gotten to this day.

The sentimental value is priceless dude. I'm happy for you.
Just want to make a few comments here on some reoccurring questions and comments: 1. Thank you for all the love on here for the bike. It is a joy to ride and your support and comments have been great. 2. When I mention HUGE deposit I meant that I put down way more than a normal deposit of £100. I paid half before I had seen it. I wasn't ripped off and just got over excited which is pretty standard for me. haha 3. I know the rear shocks preload is set at max and I am okay with that. Thanks for watching this video again and liking the bike!! Kristen

The sign of a good bike is that it's been ridden everywhere! Really like this one and how passionate you are about her.
For me, the best bike presentation from the Bike Shed. It might not be an impressive build, but there is so much love and passion coming from Kristen towards her little CD 200. Seeing this video just always makes happy and i wish the owner a ton of safe rides in the future with her daughter. Awesome bike, awesome person.
"This bike will go to her when she is old enough to ride" I think you're one of those cool mums
Dear lord, people. Does everyone have to criticize everything? Who cares about her accent! I think she sounded perfectly intelligent and I could understand every word. I love to see ladies that are into motorcycles and living the motorcycle life! That should be enough. All the haters are most likely jealous because they probably couldn't pass the motorcycle safety course riding test on a 125cc.
Love the bike and your attitude. Every so often KZread suggestions are spot on. :)
That bike is BLOODY BEAUTIFUL - nicely done Kristen, I'm green with envy! Doesn't she sing a beautiful song.
I really appreciate that you are letting the bike show it's age...the rusty tank sets it off!!!
That is one excellent looking, tidy little motorcycle. The thing that people don't get about smaller bikes is just how much you can do with them. If you took a liter class superbike to its limit, on a public road, you're asking for trouble. With a small bike, you can easily take it to its limit, and it won't be the death of you if you know what you're doing.

Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!
Nice to see a women with true passion...in 1985 I built a 72 cb 750 into a cafe racer...thing screamed...loved it ...sold it for twice what I had into it...
What an awesome looking bike! It looks brilliant! It's awesome that Kristen dailies the little beast and has done some big miles on it 😊
I absolutely love everything about this bike, especially the proportions. Sometimes with cafes, the smallest thing can throw off the lines of this bike but this is spot on. The patina on the original tank is fantastic. Oh, and such a lovely lady as well.
You can’t go wrong with Honda mechanics.Solid as a rock.Sounds Fantastic.
You guys deserve more subs. Thanks for bringing stories of real people to us
That is a killer bike. I am currently working on my Honda 350F which I bought crashed when I was in high school and made it into a little cafe bike in the 80s. Its still in good shape and ran ok when I parked it 25 years ago. Can't wait to hear it run again which should be very soon:) I just wanted to say I enjoyed the story about your bike, good luck and be safe from the US!
just acquired a 1980 200 Cd in terrible condition and i am in the process of full strip down, clean up and conversion to cafe racer, i cant stop watching this video, love the bike, not keen on the patiner look but everything else is an inspiration for my build. What a stunning bike......
Love the fact that’s her daily and she’s willing to take it everywhere. Living the dream there. 👌👍
Now there's a lady in love with her bike! Great story and even though the whole patina thing isn't really my cup of tea it does look good here 😁
I love her enthusiasm - simply brill !
Daughter on the back . coolest mom ever and she probably just loves every minute of it .my uncle used to pick me up from school on his bike and I would so love that #cool mom!!

Just built a cx500 cafe racer and am giving it to my 14 year old this Christmas 🎄
That bike is BADASS! Everything about it perfect. Glad to hear you're hanging onto it and that it's staying in your family.
So nice to see her happiness with this small bike. Good rides for you lady.
Lovely bike Kristen, so much character! Great job! BTW, I noticed the preload collar on the rear shock was on its stiffest setting. Not sure if the other one is, too, but adjusting the spring preload might improve the ‘hard tail’ like ride you mentioned. Cheers and stay safe!
So, first off, she is what being free in the wind is about. And though here inside my own head, big displacement has become necessary for the experience, I am easily realizing through this particular you tube page (it has everything to do with content and presentation) that it is the individual that makes the experience. AND, many of the other places in the world are not a 2 mile ride on the freeway away. The rest of the world is a more "roads connecting towns" method of getting there making a bike like hers perfectly suitable. Plus, I have come to really like this channel and the inclusive nature that should be common EVERYWHERE though in places it's not 😔. She and her build are just what I want to see more of! Good going rider, you rock!👍

I love her and her pure love for her motorcycle. She is a proud owner!! Honda's never fail to put a smile on your face!
I've always been a fan of bikes, old road racing mostly, been thinking about getting myself a first bike after spending too many years in fast, sporty four wheel machines rather than two.. I've been looking something I could get a retro look and good sound from while not costing the earth and not being a huge cc. This video has definitely inspired me to look at these CD200.
I think your bike is absolutely lush such a good look 👌🏻
It's a Honda, good for at least 1/2 a million miles 👍🏍❤ Beautiful bike and presentation Safe rides and travels

My first proper bike was a Honda CD175 in 1976. Great little engine. I admire your ability to ride your 200 with that seat. I rode mine everywhere including Wales and Devon as well as every race meeting I could. Ride safe.

Fantastic all sizes of motorcycle with common factors of enjoyment and pride in the ownership greatly appreciate the format of the videos 👍
I passed my test back in 1995. In the training centre before I went up to the test centre, there was an old bike tucked away in the corner. Got talking to the instructor about it and it was his, and it was up for sale. Only spent £200 on it, and my first "big" bike after passing my test was a Honda CD200 Benly. The only thing that killed it was electrical issues, so yeah I feel your pain. The first thing I remember about it after years of riding a Honda CG125 was the extra grunt on pull away. Back then it felt like a huge powerful bike to someone who had never ridden anything bigger than 125.

Love it. I built a very similar about six years ago. Don't tell everyone how much fun they are though; I might want another one. Everybody's doin it now though. Glad to see another one keeping the smiles on faces. Good call with the tank. They never look any good painted unless completely original
Unique! I had a 1975 CD175, and once got electric shocks down my legs while riding in heavy rain, as the metal plug caps short-circuited. The bike ate tyres, chains, sprockets and exhaust pipes, but was great fun to ride. Except two-up, when the brakes faded instantly.
