During this time, Regine is the ONLY indispensable artist of GMA. They could not afford to lose her. Ikaw ba naman ang maging boses behind the Kapuso station ID and even the GMA Pinoy TV theme song. Regine did not need ABS CBN to have leverage with GMA. Her voice alone for the station was the leverage. On the flip side, ABS always wanted her but knew they couldn’t get her. They kept teasing and teasing her with projects, and when they finally had the chance with Betty La Fea, they denied it. ABS had always played dirty games with Regine. During the Ariel-Gelli break-up, they totally took the side of Gelli and played Regine as the bad guy. They fueled the brown monkey rumor with Mariah, other stations never really picked up, even MTV Asia showed no involvement. During Regine’s prime, they never played her songs in ASAP, even contestants of their singing shows were not allowed to sing her songs or even mention her, eventhough it was pretty obvious that Regine was the number one singer that time, and her songs were all over the radio. They pitted a lot of their artists against her, but they all looked up to her. They even tried to play Lani against her, even when the two were really good friends. ABS did this so subtly, if not to malign, to downplay Regine’s undeniable star power then.

I remember isa sa reason kaya lumipat sya is to sing dahil wala na ngang variety show ang gma every sunday that time at di na nya gusto masyadong maghost ng mga shows gaya ng ginagawa nya sa GMA kasi nga gusto na lang nya kumanta. but since wala syang choice dahil limited nalang ang kayang gawin nang ABS kaya ayun, tinanggap na din nyang maging host sa MB. Marami ang di pa natutupad na pangako na nakasaad sa kontrata nya sa ABS like yung sitcom nila ni Ogie. Pero gayunpaman, wala na syang dapat patunayan pa. Established na yung pangalan nya at kilala na sya kahit ano pa ang mangyari sa career nya sa ABS afterall di pa naman sya napapabayaan.

Sa mga panahon na ito di kailangan ni Regine ang Abs at Gma sa totoo lang. She was such a huge star na kaya nyang gumawa ng sarili nyang independent shows and other projects as a freelance artist. GMA really cared for her. It was Abs who played games with her, and that was not nice of them. They could've gotten Regine at this time when her voice was still in its prime. Oh well.

@@nerizabuzadher8348 no. GMA will forever be baduy. ABS CBN re-elevated Regine. Only during Regine's transfer did she get massive endrosements again. That's why she keeps on calling her transfer as a second wind. Because somehow she feels herself again. ABS always always makes her the headliner, front and center. The last note in all performances. With GMA what does she get? A cooking show and sing with C-list startlets every Sunday?

Paulit ulit naman tanong mo Tito boy. Ilang beses na nga sinagot ni regine she didn't leverage abs to negotiate with gma nor did she say she was offered 25M. Klangan ba tlga ilang beses itanong at sagutin. Very heartbreaking tlga yung ganyang may gusto ko trabaho almost comprising what u already love and enjoy tapos lalo kp nawalan. Ito yung time na (mas) talamak si ABS na mamirata (like always). At yung panahong either susulutin nila ang sikat na star ng GMA or bring them down sa kung anu mang paraan. The na-unsyame Regine-bettyLaFea project is ABS' way of bring her down. Ilaglag ba ang isang Regine. See, she quit GMA tas bigla ni-deny ni ABS hence naka hang and jobless si Regine and caused lamat with her relationship with GMA. This is the reason why i never thought Regine would transfer to ABS after this mishap and a lot more. And considering the known dirty image of ABS on how they compete with GMA and even as a company (oligarch and all the filthy nature ng sistema sa kumpanya), Regine is less likely to transfer. Pero knowing Regine na mapagpatawad, ayun lumipat sa ABS. Sa kamalasang timing na nagsara at nawalan ng franchise. Damay tuloy sya. In this interview, it is obvious Boy is oN ABS' side. He keeps butting in at nkaka annoy tuloy sa iniinterview. Regine is one of the celebrities na spontaneous kainterview at hindi nawawala sa point and topic. Pero since Boy is aiming at some direction, he keeps interupting the flow and momentum. And I can say based on this particular interview na hindi sya magaling na host. Mas parami pa syang sinasabe sa guest nya.

During the early years of her interviews, she used to say that "she wants to sing" as her alibi and that she no longer does that in GMA kasi wala na si SOP/PP. She just wants to experience working with ABS and their artists. Siyempre malaking influence ay ang hubby nya. Wrong timing lang tlga. As for Boy, may times syang subtle sa pagiging aggresive and ma-agenda. Ganun sya when sa ABS. Pansin ko sa GMA mdyo nag tone down.

Nung panahon na nanonood pa mg free to air channel na tv at mga cable

tapos ito yung di siya natuloy sa ABS CBN and nagpa contract na siya sa GMA so she can't be borrowed (i think) by ABS-CBN.

Betty La Fea si bea alonzo ang gumanap

Kaya ang pangit ng network exclusive format sa Pinas. Walang growth mga artista to explore new things. Buti pa sa korea kahit sino pwede makatrabaho at kahit saang station napapanuod.

Its kinda disappointing na medyo bias si tito boy dito sa interview dahil obviously nililinis nya ang pangalan ng ABS at parang si Regine ang sinisisi nya. But understandable enough since ABS show ito. Siguro ang sa akin lang, since ininterview nya si Regine about the offer sana di sya sumisingit at di sya nagbubutt in everytime regine talks. Anyway past forward 2024, they switched network. Funny isn't it. 😅
